This is my entry for the #BeautifulSunday challenge, initiated by @ace108. Thanks, my friend!
And I'm also posting today inspired by #SublimeSunday, a tag from @c0ff33a! Thanks!
Today I'm writing about one of the craziest places I've been so far: The Robot Restaurant Lounge, in Shinjuku’s Kabukicho, in Tokyo, Japan. It was launched in 2012 and had become one of the iconic places of the night in Tokyo.
For a start, let me say that, in my opinion, Tokyo is one of the craziest cities I've been so far. I was expecting a big metropolis, yes, with 25 million people, but an Asian type one, with some zen spirit within it. It's not. Or is mainly not.
Maybe we can see the Asian culture, of course, in the temples, museums and other monuments, but especially in the sense of duty, commitment and organization you see all around. People working like crazy, until late at night, being super organized in qeues and in every public places, for instance.
But, then, at the same time, in the crazy side of Tokyo you see excesses, eccentricities and craziness everywhere you go. And in Shinjuku, one of the most popular neighborhoods of Tokyo, all of this becomes a superlative.
There's a famous bar and restaurant called Robot. We didn't go to the show as it was too expensive (around 80 usd/person, and we were 4 as you know).
But we went to the restaurant. And the Robot Restaurant has this most eccentric and crazy decoration!
I had never seen so many flashing lights, colors, decoration styles, reflections, mirrors, neons, all in a single place! I even got a bit dizzy, let me say.
I feel that the time I've sent there I was always with my jaw dropping, noticing a new crazy detail in wherever my eyes were looking at each moment. Even now I’m not sure my brain has yet been able to process everything I saw :D!
