Enjoyable Meal With Family At Kong 3 Lung Mee restaurant

March 2020 · 3 min read · Pathum Thani Province

Hello everyone,

How long did I go without having dinner with my family? It was almost 2 years I wasn’t able to get back to see my parents because I’m working in Osaka, Japan. Of course, I really miss real Thai food! When I have Thai food in Japan, I doesn't seem like real Thai food, even if it's a Thai restaurant and the chef is Thai, because usually the taste is adjusted for Japanese customers, who tend to not like spicy food.

There are many restaurants near my hous but I remembered that my mom recommended Klong 3 Lung Mee Seafood. She has been there a few times and said the food is good and prices are reasonable.

Klong 3 Lung Mee Seafood

This restaurant is a local Thai restaurant located between Thanyaburi City and Kongluang City. It can seat more that 40 people, either inside with air-conditioning or outside.

There are a lot of items on the menu. I don’t know what I should order, because I want to eat everything. 😆 😆 The menu is in 3 languages: Thai, English and Chinese. It’s really good for foreign tourists. If you don’t know what an item is, there are pictures of the food, so it's easy to understand and order, I think.

We ordered 5 dishes - 1 kilogram of grilled shrimp, fried sea-bass with fish sauce, tom yum seafood, stir fired squid with salted duck eggs, and boiled babylonia areolata.

Yummy grilled shrimps

This dish is 1 kilogram of grilled shrimp, or 14-15 shrimps. You can not order just 2-3 shrimp, but they accept orders of a half kilogram or 1 kilogram. It's not expensive, about 580 baht or $20. It was fresh and delicious. I had it with spicy seafood, which made it even more yummy.

Fried sea-bass with fish sauce. This dish was recommended from my mom. The fried sea-bass meat was crispy, and good dipped in the sour and spicy sauce.

Tom yum seafood. Tom yum is a dish well-known throughout the world. You might know only tom yum kung, whose main ingredient is shrimp, but this one has crab, shrimp, squid and mussels so we call it tom yum seafood. It was quite hot and spicy. I loved it.

Stir fired squid with salted duck eggs. It was not spicy compared to the others dishes.

Boiled babylonia areolata. My brother liked this one. I just tried 4 or 5 pieces. It was good with seafood sauce. I liked it too.

All dishes here are quite big. I recommend this restaurant for families or more than 4 people. I’m sure I will go back again next time I visit Thailand.

Open hour: Every day 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
