Behind The Photo contest - Edition #2 / Una mirada al río Orinoco

He llegado a este concurso Behind The Photo contest - Edition #2 porque vi en el blog de @evagavilan una serie de magníficas fotografías que ella realizó una tarde behind the sky del pueblo donde se encuentra actualmente. Luego hallé en su página la convocatoria a este Concurso, en el cual se pide que se cuenten las historias que hay detrás de las imágenes y me atreví a mostrar algunas de mis fotos tomadas en un viaje que realice hace tres años al estado Bolívar, al este de Venezuela, limitando con Guyana y Brasil.

I have reached this contest Behind The Photo contest - Edition # 2 because I saw in the blog of @evagavilan a series of magnificent photographs that she took one afternoon behind the sky of the town Where it is currently. Then I found on its page the call to this Contest, in which it is requested that the stories behind the images be told and I dared to show some of my photos taken on a trip I made three years ago to the Bolivar state, at Eastern Venezuela, bordering with Guyana and Brazil.

Fue un viaje que hice por labores de trabajo y que pronto se convirtió en placer porque en Venezuela la madre natura fue verdaderamente bondadosa al obsequiarnos tantos magníficos paisajes. Uno de ellos es este estado Bolívar que es bañado completamente por el río Orinoco, el tercer río más caudaloso del mundo, después del Amazonas y el Congo. Es una experiencia religiosa mirar esa gran masa de masa de agua dulce que se extiende ante nuestras miradas. Según Alejo Carpentier, «el Orinoco es una materialización del tiempo en las tres categorías agustinianas, tiempo pasado (el tiempo del recuerdo), tiempo presente (tiempo de la intuición) y tiempo futuro (tiempo de la espera)». It was a trip that I did for work and that soon became a pleasure because in Venezuela, Mother Nature was truly kind to give us so many magnificent landscapes. One of them is this Bolivar state that is completely bathed by the Orinoco River, the third largest river in the world, after the Amazon and the Congo . It is a religious experience to look at that great mass of fresh water mass that extends before our eyes. According to Alejo Carpentier, "the Orinoco is a materialization of time in the three Augustinian categories, past tense (the time of remembrance), present tense (time of intuition) and future tense (waiting time)" See Wikipedia

El viaje lo realicé en autobús. La mayoría de las imágenes fueron tomadas con el vehículo en movimiento y no pude hacer todas las fotografías que me hubiese gustado tomar. Esta es una de las innumerables lagunas que se forman a las orillas del camino.

I made the trip by bus. Most of the images were taken with the vehicle moving and I could not take all the photographs that I would have liked to take. This is one of the countless lagoons that form on the banks of the road.

Debido a la profunda crisis política, social y económica que está sufriendo Venezuela a diario los pobladores de esta tierra hacen manifestaciones y en muchos casos detienen durante varias horas el tránsito automotor en las carreteras nacionales, como sucedió en esta ocasión, para llamar la atención y hacer reclamos por los pésimos servicios públicos y la carestía de los alimentos básicos necesarios para la buena dieta de los venezolanos.

Due to the deep political, social and economic crisis that Venezuela is suffering on a daily basis, the inhabitants of this land make demonstrations and in many cases stop automobile traffic on national roads for several hours, as happened on this occasion, to attract attention and make claims for the lousy public services and the lack of basic food necessary for the good diet of Venezuelans.

Es común ver casas o chozas construidas por los habitantes de la región en medio de las lagunas, integradas en el fluir del río, es una cultura que se observa desde tiempos inmemoriales.

It is common to see houses or huts built by the inhabitants of the region in the middle of the lagoons, integrated into the river's flow, it is a culture that has been observed since time immemorial.
