You have to pay for every national park, nature reserve, and sometimes even an ordinary viewpoint. On the list of the most overpaid tourist attractions of our trip, most are in Chile. For similar places that you visit in Argentina for free or for a symbolic PLN 5 in Chile you have to pay 25, 50, 100 or even PLN 150. Za podobne miejsca, które w Argentynie ❤ zwiedza się za darmo lub za symboliczne 5zł w Chile trzeba płacić 25, 50, 100 a nawet 150zł. You have to admit, however, that some places are so crazy that seeing them is worth a lot of money, and the Atacama Desert is full of such places. The first place we visited in the desert is Valle de la luna or the moon valley. I don't think you need to explain where this name comes from, you only need to look at the photos and the answer comes by itself. The valley is located just a few kilometers outside the town of San Pedro de Atacama, which is the main base for tourists visiting this region of Chile. The most popular way to get to the valley is to rent a bike and take a seemingly lyte trip out of town. Nothing could be more wrong. High temperatures make driving 10 kilometers outside the city and returning from the Moon Valley a real struggle for survival. Getting there doesn't mean the end of trouble. The ubiquitous sand is so hot that every contact with a bare foot ends in burns, and unfortunately we made this trip in sandals. As a result, we had to take every step carefully so that our walk would not remind us of walking on hot coals. As I mentioned, visiting the Valley of the Moon is worth all the money, however, the best viewpoint of the valley is completely free, because it is located right on the main road leading to Calama city, and the best time of the day to go there is at sunset. Fairy tale views!

Trzeba jednak przyznać rację, że niektóre miejsca są na tyle odjechane, że zobaczenie ich warte jest wielkich pieniędzy, a pustynia Atacama pełna jest takich miejsc. Pierwsze miejsce, które odwiedziliśmy na pustyni jest Valle de la luna czyli dolina księżycowa. Skąd pochodzi taka nazwa chyba nie trzeba nikomu tłumaczyć, wystarczy tylko rzut okiem na zdjęcia i odpowiedź przychodzi sama. Dolina znajduje się raptem kilka kilometrów za miastem San Pedro de Atacama, które stanowi gówna bazę dla turystów odwiedzających ten region Chile. Najpopularniejszym sposobem na dostanie się do doliny jest wypożyczenie roweru i zrobienie sobie wydawałoby się lajtowej wycieczki za miasto. Nic bardziej mylnego. Wysoka temperatura sprawia, że przejechanie 10 kilometrów za miasto oraz powrót z Doliny Księżycowej staje się prawdziwa walką o przetrwanie. Dotarcie na miejsce nie oznacza końca kłopotów. Wszechobecny piasek jest rozgrzany do tego stopnia, że każdy kontakt z gołą stopa kończy się poparzeniem, a na nieszczęście my odbywaliśmy tą wycieczkę w sandałach. W efekcie każdy krok musieliśmy robić ostrożnie, aby nasz spacer nie przypomniał stąpania do rozżarzonych węglach. Jak już wspomniałem zwiedzanie Doliny Księżycowej jest warte każdych pieniędzy, niemniej jednak, najlepszy punkt widokowy na dolinę jest zupełnie darmowy, bo znajduje się tuż przy głównej drodze prowadzącej do miasta Calama, a najlepszą porą dnia aby się tam udać jest zachód słońca. Widoki bajka!
