Wild camping in Bavaria, slept in the middle of a thunderstorm😮

great landscape everywhere 😍

I spent my best vacation in Germany in Bavaria ... we were on our way to a festival and had already left about 5 days before. The weather was good, we loved the landscape in Bavaria and wanted to camp a bit on the way. We just drove and stopped where we liked. I ordered a pop up tent last year, the best investment of my life. You've never set up a tent so quickly. just throw it in the air and tadaaa there it was. Ok, you have to practice for half an hour to fold it up, but once you get the hang of it, it's the perfect tent!

We drove very slowly through the area in the car in the direction of the festival...we just stopped where we liked it or looked for a nice lake on the map. We were pretty lucky with the weather, that's not always the case in Germany, not even in summer! We found a beautiful area on the river with the name "Regen" and went swimming...since there was nobody to be seen far and wide and there were only fields and meadows around, we went swimming naked 🤭 It was the freshest and clearest water ever! Nice 😍

That's actually how we spent our days...driving from lake to lake, going naked for a swim had become a tradition, making a fire in the evening and having a barbecue! Of course everything is not allowed in Germany, wild camping, campfires...But I mean, who cares, because if there's a tent hidden in some pasture...don't get caught, that's the motto! Perhaps a wild boar was surprised about our tent at night.😛and we were very careful not to burn down any forest, because of course we don't want that either 😇

One night we stood with our tent in a forest clearing. I had to pee in the night, I left the tent and saw a lot of fireflies flying around in the forest from afar. I hadn't seen any fireflies for at least 20 years, I used to watch them out of the window with my grandmother. Here in Bavaria in the forest hundreds flew around. I woke up my friend and we looked at the floating glowworms for at least 1 hour... that was a cool sight. Cool invention of nature "glowing women pos, who want to attract the males with it! " or not.....😄🤨

Really cozy place.....

I mentioned that the weather was super good that week, we decided to sleep without a tent that night. It wasn't cold, why not just in a sleeping bag under the starry sky. That went well until about 2 a.m.... my friend woke me up excitedly and said "come on, come thunderstorm!" I didn't check anything at all, I was still in sleep mode...I stayed a bit and lay there and thought to myself it won't be that bad! Then I also felt the raindrops on my skin. and also saw the first flash pretty much above us! I finally got up, my friend was already packing things, we looked for everything together and ran. since we had been chilling in the area all day, we knew that there was a barn a few hundred meters away. Luckily, the thunderstorm was right above us, the whole area was so brightly lit by the lightning and the thunder so loud! That was really awesome! I usually love and watch thunders, but this was a bit too intense to be in the middle of it! I lost my sleeping pad on the way and we just about made it into the hut..it really started to rain! it thundered violently and when the lightning struck, the whole area was completely lit up! It was crazy! Luckily this hut was there...our car was quite a bit further away, in between there was a lake, that wouldn't have been so funny...We slept together on 1 sleeping pad on the hard floor,  but were glad we survived the night!

This week we also did a canoe tour... that was really hard canoe tour , we paddled along the "Regen" river again. An older couple around 60 had booked the tour with us. The tour was really long and you had to paddle properly in many places. The couple only complained after an hour. Our guide just drove us to the starting point, explained a few things to us and then said he would pick us up off at the destination! The elderly people complained about everything about mosquitoes, exertion, light rain, hunger, thirst, the guide not being there...We came to a lock, so we had to carry the canoe around the outside. When we all wanted to get back into the boats, the man fell and lost his mobile phone. From then on, of course, it was all over, he just complained to his wife, who had booked the tour! We paddled a bit ahead, we couldn't listen to the bad mood anymore! But the tour was really long and exhausting, at some point I leaned back and let my friend paddle.😛😇At the end of the tour you had no more power, we first sat down in a beautiful Bavarian beer garden and drank a mass of beer and ate something hearty!

Speaking of "mass beer" we had found a small village festival by chance. We were happy to sit down at one of the benches, enjoyed the folk music 😄 and wanted to order something to drink and eat! The waitresses simply didn't serve us, even after speaking to them directly, she said rudely "she didn't have time". It was totally crazy in this beer tent, you really noticed that the people didn't feel like us! We later talked to a few people our age and they also said "Yes, Bayern like to be among themselves!" We, as North Hesse, are foreigners for them :0 crazy! Strange mood there for us, we got our beer at some point, but then we left again!

It was a nice little trip through Bavaria...I can only recommend everyone to just pack up the tent and set off!

The festival wasn't that great this year, it rained a lot ;)
