Opening Of My Shopping Galleries: City Mall, My First & Outstanding Shop In Kumasi

May 2020 · 8 min read · Ashanti Region

Today is my first visit to Kumasi City Mall, and of course my outstanding Altra modern designed and well equipped shop I have ever visited so far. In fact, I never planned, neither did I include in my travelling agenda of coming to such well organised shop. Though, many of my friends who have ever being here have ever described how this place is nice, but I took it light since guys are sometimes funny to build castle in the air. Actually, I was going to the same area to do one or two stuff at Teacher's Fund Financial Service, where I found myself on the same road in proximity to the City Mall. This was opportunity to to see the real story my guys have been bragging. This took me like a day dream, the place has been gorgeously designed from the entrance, car park to the main shops, where they have demarcated the very goods.

I found myself like a small fish in the large ocean, or a stranger in the midst of a crowd; I had to find my way not to feel shy or hesitate to ask the directions of many routes to the various shops. I fell on one security man at the entrance to the main, that's "ShopRite." I was asked the wash my hands well, sanitize before I would be allowed to pass the aisle to the various shops. At the entrance to the ShopRite there were three security men to check our body temperature before we would be allowed to enter. My temperature was normal as 36.6°c, so I was allowed to enter. I was having some luggage, that's the bag clinging my back where I had some small items inside, so I was asked to see a certain lady in which her duty is to receive parcels at the exchange of card that contain number so that when you finish you present the number to receive your parcel(s). I did all that before I was finally allowed to enter the ShopRite. I entered and for the first time, I felt like entering a cool breeze because of the air-condition. There are many aisles in between the shops separating the varieties of items in the shop. By then I had not even decided what to buy, since I didn't planned to come for real shopping, but just to learn more things there for the first time. So I walked almost 30mins doing only window shopping, without even selected one item I prefer to buy. I had to admire and feel the presence of of some of the good things here, so I had my first photography here for some packaged pastries:

I moved to another lain where I saw many fresh baked breads which are attractive for consumption. I decided to make my first selection, the price too was cool as Ghc 6 which would be equivalent to $1.01. So I picked one.

I know my kids love ice creams to the extent that anytime I travel and return they request of ice cream, but I don't often meet some at the station, so here is my last chance to show some love for my kids by buying ice creams for them. I just included the whole family so I bought four. I love strawberry flavoured ones, that's exactly what I chose.

I walked to another aisle where I saw a lot of frozen meat that have been well packaged in take away containers of different kinds; pock, beaf, chicken, sausages and many others. In fact they are fresh and very appealing to buy. I really love how they are slided, I stood there a while to observe how it is so that in my next shopping I can make the right choice.

I moved to different Lain where were many beautiful soft drinks call "Grapetiser." I love that conical design with the green color of the bottle plus that light wine cork/lid. The price too is cool closely to Ghc 10. I walked through the aisle and took few pictures as you can see me and some ot the workers at far distance.

Interestingly, everything that you want here in Kumasi City Mall you can get. As I was walking through the shop, I also found Verna pure water in their big transparent bottles, behind it is the Binatone standing fan. In fact I love those Verna water but I can't carry everything here home, so some of the things I just observe them and move on.

There is also a nice display of Deva soft babies pomade which is also good for the skin. For this one I just took one to be given to my kids to also smoothing their skins.

I moved from ShopRite to another department of the same Shopping Mall. Here, the items are more of games, playing kits and what we can use for entertainment. So I continued observing through different kinds of items found here. I came across varieties of balls from leather to synthetic. You can get different brands for any game that you want; netball, volleyball, handball and others. The prices also ranges from quality to inferior depending on your strength. I already have one at home that we use for entertaining ourselves, so there is not need to add another one. I just made fun with is and snapped pictures with them.

That is lovely and my eyes wanted to see more beautiful things like this. I came and met a lot of tennis ball racquets but I don't know how to play tennis ball, but I just like them so I captured pictures here for fun.

Just in the same place where the varieties of balls were located, I saw a "snooker" written on it "sold out." That's also one game that my friends often play but I don't know how to play. I just took the stick for playing and the ball to also make fun.

There are different game tools found here that I don't even know their names, but just took pictures and move on in the shop.

There were also small rubber mottobikes for kids to make fun. I loved to have bought for my small boy since he keep worrying me to buy him one. It was rather unfortunate I didn't carry along with much money. There was also display of bicycles of different types there. I just love riding bicycles since they are great devices for making exercise.

I moved on to a different part where I found a lot of teddies with different designs. I wanted to buy one for my daughter but was thinking that far as I didn't buy the mottobike for my boy they will fight over this teddy. I held it and just put it down. It was very nice as present as you can see.

There were so many things that I couldn't captured here, likewise so many places like art shop, book shop, canteen, computer and TV sets, fashion design materials for instances for hair styles and many other places. These are only two departments that I visited. But in my next shopping in this place, I have to come early so that I can visit the rest of lovely and beautiful places. I saw these interesting playing tools for kids in school when I was about to leave. I just love those tools in my school for the kids to play with them, so I couldn't go away without taking some pictures to show my kindergarten teacher.

The background display here is the face of the Shopping Mall where there are a lot playing grounds and items for kids to enjoy themselves when their parents bring them here. They just pay small amount of money to enjoy this place. They have a toy of helicopter in which the kids enter and play. They also have a toy of elephants and other activities to let the kids become happy and also eliminates coward from them.

Finally, I decided to leave Kumasi City Mall and make it other time where I will be able to planned well and come with my family to enjoy here, since there are a lot of stuff here, beautiful things to buy and entertain ourselves.

Well, I can't go home with empty stomach, since I felt hungry and exhausted with much energy upon long hours of touring in the Shopping Mall. It was rather unfortunate that I couldn't afford food at the Kumasi City Mall canteen. So I came and lodged here at certain bush canteen just opposite of Baba Yara Sports Stadium. I ordered for some joloff rice, an egg, beef and papaya on top to fill my berry to be able to continue my journey home. It is a wonderful moment being here, since I have a lot to share with my family for the items I bought. I also feel very happy to also share some of these excitements with my Steemians here on @TravelFeed. At least the day couldn't go empty, but I have used it well.

This is how I ended my tour in Kumasi City Mall, though it was unplanned shopping, but I found it being a great opportunity of visiting there. Thanks to everybody here in @TravelFeed and Steem Blockchain, this is @oppongk reporting from Kumasi- Ghana.
