Trip to Montenegro I - Budva [EN/DE]

I'm close to take new pictures. In the meantime, I want to show you quite different photos and take you with me on a journey that my husband and I made in 2012. This trip took us to Montenegro. The destination is still not very popular to us, the country itself is still in its infancy in terms of tourism. However, it has on its almost 140,000km² and a coastline of just 140km unbelievably much to offer. There are beautiful historic towns, luxury and poverty, wild nature, hot bathing paradises and mountains with cool mountain lakes.

Ich bin drauf und dran, wieder neue Bilder zu machen. Bis es soweit ist, möchte ich euch jedoch in der Zwischenzeit ganz andere Fotos zeigen und euch auf eine Reise mitnehmen, die mein Mann und ich in 2012 unternommen hatten. Das Reiseziel ist nach wie vor nicht besonders populär bei uns, das Land selbst steckt noch in den Kinderschuhen, was Tourismus betrifft. Allerdings hat es auf seinen knapp 140.000km² und einer Küstenlinie von gerade 140km wirklich unglaublich viel zu bieten. Es gibt wunderschöne historische Städte, Luxus und Armut, wilde Natur, heiße Badeparadiese und Gebirge mit kühlen Bergseen.

Our accommodation was located in a small town called Budva right on the coast. I want to start with that. We actually stayed in a typical tourist hotelcomplex, where was a lot of all-inclusive tourism, including entertainment and bad karaoke nights ... for swimming there are beautiful beaches in this corner. At the time of our journey, one concrete hotel block after another was shooting up like mushrooms. I do not know what it looks like in the meantime.

Unsere Unterkunft war in einem kleinen Städtchen namens Budva direkt an der Küste. Damit möchte ich auch beginnen. Wir waren tatsächlich in einem Pauschal-Touristen-Hotel-Bunker untergebracht, in dem reger All-Inclusive-Tourismus herrscht, inklusive Animation und schlimmen Karaoke-Abenden...zum Baden gibt es in dieser Ecke traumhafte Strände. Zum Zeitpunkt unserer Reise schossen ringsherum ein Beton-Klotz nach dem anderen aus dem Boden, um noch mehr Touristen aufzunehmen. Ich weiß allerdings nicht, wie es inzwischen dort aussieht.

Budva itself has in the west a beautiful old town surrounded by the old fortress, full of small shops and cafes. The entire coastline has a touch of Venetian architecture, as the Italian coast is opposite and probably a lot of exchange took place on the waterway.

Budva selbst hat im Westen eine wunderschöne Altstadt umgeben von der alten Festung, voller kleiner Läden und Cafe´s. Der komplette Küstenstrich hat einen Hauch venezianischer Architektur, da die italienische Küste quasi gegenüberliegt und wohl reger Austausch auf dem Wasserweg stattfand.

If you walk along the beach to the east, you get into picturesque private bays. One should not forget to take something to drink, it is hellish hot in June.

Läuft man den Strand Richtung Osten entlang, gelangt man in malerische Privatbuchten. Man darf allerdings nicht vergessen etwas zu trinken mitzunehmen, es ist höllisch heiß im Juni.

Finally, after just under an hour of walking, you reach the Sveti Stefan peninsula. On this island is a very classy, ​​high-priced hotel. This island may only be entered by hotel guests.

Letztendlich gelangt man nach einer knappen Stunde zur Halbinsel Sveti Stefan. Auf dieser Insel steht ein sehr nobles, hochpreisiges Hotel. Betreten dürfen diese Insel auch ausschließlich die Hotelgäste.
