Trip to Montenegro II - Kotor [EN/DE]

In Montenegro you can easily reach any region by bus. Budva, where our hotel was, has a large bus station. From there @michaeldietrich and I traveled almost every day to another city. One of our most impressive adventures was climbing the fortress of Kotor. Kotor is a beautiful city with a picturesque old town and ancient seaport located in the bay of Kotor.

In Montenegro kann man jede Gegend einfach per Bus erreichen. In Budva, wo unser Hotel war, gibt es einen großen Busbahnhof. Von dort sind @michaeldietrich und ich fast jeden Tag in eine andere Stadt gereist. Eines von unseren eindrucksvollsten Abenteuern war Hinaufsteien zur Festung von Kotor. Kotor ist eine wunderschöne Stadt mit einer malerischen Altstadt und einem antiken Hafen in der gleichnamigen Bucht.

In the biggest heat of the summer we decided to climb up the stone stairs to the fortress with its' roundabout 1350 steps. So I´m going to show you now some pictures from getting up there and what we found when we finally (almost) reached the top. This walk included much sweat and epic views.

In der größten Sommerhitze beschlossen wir die steinerne Treppe mit ihren ungefähr 1350 Stufen hinaufzusteigen. Ich werde euch nun einige Bilder vom Aufstieg zeigen und was wir fanden, als wir (fast) oben waren. Diese Wanderung war äußerst schweißtreibend und eröffnete uns einige epische Ausblicke.

Do you see the red flag in the upper right? This was our destination. But let´s start at the old town...

Könnt ihr die rote Flagge rechts oben sehen? Das war unser Ziel. Aber lasst uns in der Altstadt starten...

From there begins the climb. With every step you reach a better view over the whole bay. But beware, it´s also getting more and more dangerous!

Von dort beginnt der Aufstieg. Mit jedem Schritt bekommt man eine bessere Übersicht über die ganze Bucht. Aber vorsicht - es wird auch immer gefährlicher!

We passed many ruins that you could never ever enter here in Germany due to security regulations.

Wir kamen an etlichen Ruinen vorbei, die man hier in Deutschland niemals hätte betreten können aufgrund von Sicherheitsvorschriften.

We also discovered one dark chamber, where strange noises were coming out. When I turned on the flash light of the camera we realized we entered a bat cave...

Wir entdeckten unter anderem eine dunkle Kammer, aus der seltsame Geräusche kamen. Als ich den Kamerablitz anmachte, sahen wir, dass wir uns in einer Fledermaushöhle befanden...

And then we found this window made of stone, that seems to separate our world from a hidden fairy world, where humanity is extinct for a long time and animals took back what always belonged to them. We climbed through that window and enjoyed this strange place for a while, surrounded by mighty mountains.

Und dann fanden wir dieses steinerne Fenster, das unsere Welt von einer versteckten Feenwelt zu trennen schien, in der die Menschheit schon lange ausgestorben war und in der die Tiere sich zurückgenommen hatten, was ihnen gehörte. Wir kletterten durch dieses Fenster und genossen diesen seltsamen Ort für eine Weile, umgeben von mächtigen Bergen.

We almost made it to the red flag, but that was not so exciting as the spots we discovered on the way up there. So if you´re ever close, don´t miss this wonderful place!

Wir haben es fast bist zur Flagge geschafft, aber das war dann doch nicht so spannend wie die Plätze, die wir auf dem Weg nach oben gefunden hatten. Also solltet ihr jemals in der Nähe sein, verpasst diesenwundervollen Ort nicht!
