My entry for People Photography by @worldcapture, week 52

January 2020 · 3 min read · Playa del Carmen

Hi there my Steemian friends and followers!

I am happy to submit yet another entry to the legendary People Photography challenge hosted by our one and only Chris aka @worldcapture. I think I am not exaggerating at all when I am saying legendary because it is actually now in this week when this photo challenge is celebrating its one year anniversary. That´s right, this is the 52nd weekly round of the People Photography challenge and before I get to submitting my actual entry for this round, let me first express my thanks and gratitude to Chris for hosting this amazing photo challenge so dutifully and responsibly for such a long time. Thank you Chris, you rock! :)

You might also want to know that to celebrate this impressive anniversary, Chris decided to go really big with the prize pool this time. He will distribute a whopping 100 Steem among the winners of this round so make sure not to miss out on submitting an entry ;) As always, Chris is funding the contest from his own pocket so I am sure he would appreciate any kind of support from you guys. How about, for example, showering the anniversary contest post with some juicy upvotes, huh? ;)

But back to my own entry now. I wish I had something better for this special occasion but I am known to take photos of people only very rarely (or accidentally :D) and I have already used most of my best shots in the previous rounds but hopefully, this photo still makes a decent contribution.

I took this picture at a military exhibition in Playa del Carmen, Mexico in November 2017. The exhibition took place on the main square in front of the Municipal Palace and I can remember it was super hot back then (well, just like almost every day in this part of Mexico :D) so the officers were just trying to cool down a bit in the shade of this large military vehicle. I am not a big fan of military stuff but I must admit some pieces of the machinery showcased at the event were really impressive. I might actually do a separate post to share some more photos from the exhibition with you.
