Hiking to Brestová

October 2020 · 2 min read · District of Tvrdošín

The tour to Brestová is one of the shorter and less demanding tours that I completed in 2020. Nevertheless, it does not detract from her attractiveness and together with her colleague we are looking forward to this trip.

In the morning we arrive at the parking lot Roháče-Spálená, where our hike begins. We have an almost 10-kilometer hike and an ascent to 1910 meters above sea level. The total elevation is 915 meters.

Right from the beginning, we are starting to rise sharply. Part of the way we go through the forest and part after the log cabin. From time to time we see the cable car, which is on our left side.

We enter the rhododendron belt. The cable car, which is a few tens of meters from us, also ends at these heights. We take short breaks when ascending.

We finally got to the ridge. From here we have a nice view of the surrounding countryside and the destination of our trip, the hill Brestová.

In front of us was a meadow with cranberries in addition to cypress trees. We came here just as they were maturing. They were beautiful red and sweet. Such an unexpected delicacy made me very happy. And we found a toadstool here. But we didn't taste it for sure.

After the ridge we go on a slight ascent to our goal. The last few meters and we're here.

Unlike most shields, where one has to make do with a small space and find a safe place to rest, there are meadows. We compose things, relax and enjoy the views of the surrounding countryside.

There are quite a lot of people on Brestova and we can see from the top that there are still a lot of people coming here. It is also thanks to the house that for those who want to make it easier, the cable car goes halfway.

We go back another way. Right around the cable car.

Once again, we took full advantage of the nice day and enjoyed the trip to the fullest. We return home satisfied and full of experiences.
