Wilanów - the pearl of Warsaw

Wilanów - the pearl of Warsaw

June 2020 · 2 min read · Warsaw

Warsaw is an amazing city with many palaces and parks. Domestic residents cannot complain about the lack of rest areas. In my opinion, however, Wilanów Palace is the most beautiful castle with flowering gardens and park in the city. We finally left his show.

As soon as I saw him, he enchanted me. The penetrating yellow color with which it is painted shines far away. I choose a camera and click one frame after another. I try to photograph it without people, but there is always someone in my picture.

After a while of waiting, I'm finally doing well and we can line up for tickets. We buy tickets for the tour and since it is Thursday, admission to the garden is free. We have almost an hour to enter the palace, so first we go to see the royal gardens.

Beautifully landscaped gardens with lots of flowers surround the palace on all sides. One flower more beautiful than the other. Together they are in perfect harmony.

We are lucky. Our time of entry is approaching and it is starting to rain outside. Perfectly planned.

The interior of the palace is as fascinating as the exterior. One more beautiful room than the other.

What will I tell you. Take a look.

The castle was built in the Baroque style for King John III. Sobieski in 1677. Its architecture is a fusion of European art with strongly Polish building traditions, which the architects succeeded perfectly. The castle served as the residence of the kings. In 1805, part of it was created by its owner Stanislaw Kostka Potocki Museum, one of the first in Poland. During World War II, the castle was damaged. However, he was happier than most castles in Warsaw and was not destroyed by retreating German troops.
