Norwegian landscapes: Innerdalshytta tourist shelter

August 2019 · 2 min read · Sunndal

Hi Friends!

Continuing the subject of summertime landscapes from Innerdalen valley - today few shots of fantastic tourist shelter called Innerdalshytta.

It is situated just by the main trail leading through the valley, it is the last stop for the cars, road end there, but only the shelter workers and customers who lent the houses nearby are allow to use the road to the mountains and the valley. Public parking places are located far from here, which is great, because we won't be disturbed by souinds and smells of any traffic.

In back we can see amazing top of pyramid shaped mountain called Innerdalstårnet - Innerdals Tower.

It is possible to go to the top of the mountain but first You have to register yourself in the tourist shelter, You will get special belt, helmet and then You are good to go to the top. I saw a movies from ascending the summit + it is possible for everybody but I think not for me - I have a little fear of hights which can be very big problem on the way to the top...

In the shelter You can relax, eat, drink or get a place to sleep, there is also a place for setting a tent if You wish to but to be honest, if You go further around 1 km, You can set a tent for free. Good thing is that there You will have access to the toilets, water and be close to others so the choice is Yours... I prefer to be outside the civilization.

What else can be said about the place - looks great, standing in harmony with surrounding mountains, typical scandinavian architecture, during summer season we can expect a lot of people there. It is closed during wintertime and the valley itself is sometimes really hard to reach.

And to the end - one more view on the mountain Innerdalstårnet:
