Travel Norway extras - Cityscape of Trondheim

Hello Folks!

Norwegian, or maybe scandinavian wooden architecture is something I really liked here. Houses don't look the same, the number of variations is amazing, buildings looks really light, simple but often have many interesting and original designs.

In the town are couple of places from which we can see amazing panorama of all the town.

Main part of the town and the oldest one, is situated among the shores of Nidelva river, on the plains surrounded by hilly ground. Now - these hills are mostly living areas covered by private houses of all sorts.
All the presented shots was made from the location of Kristansten Fortress, on the hill above the town, eastern side of the river Nidelva.

Among the benefits of the look of wooden houses, what else is great, comparing to houses in Poland for example - is painting. There is no very saturated and crazy shining colours, all are pastel, mild, gentle for the eye and looking well in surroundings. In Poland we have many houses which are painted with crazy yellow, some pink'ish colours, violet, like a VanGogh's art...

The colours for the houses are certified and I think it is even not possible to paint it on a different ones which are not available att the stores. Maybe it is a problem for some people who want to "stand out" from others - but here, in Scandinavia, everybody agree that it is good. And I like it too.
The houses looks really neutral towards the environment, that is the main reason why norwegian and overall scandinavian towns are simply beautiful.

But the times are changing, many new big blocks of flats are made by concrete loosing its real northern spirit.
There is very big housing problem in big cities, many people are waiting for their flats one more more year, hundreds new buildings emerged every year, it really chenge the look of the towns to more modern, minimalistic and for me - boring style.

Good that the old parts of the towns still remains untouched.

Hope You will enjoy the eye with the gallery below.
Have a great day!
