4 Mistakes That I Commited on our trip to Baguio (I Should Have Done This)

February 2019 · 3 min read

Hey Everybody! Let me share my photos from our Baguio trip last 2016! If I could just travel back the time,These are the things that I should have did/ done while we were in Baguio!

1. I should have appreciated the nature and culture

I admit, I was so naïve that time because it was my first time riding on a plane, travelled with people whom first language was not the same as mine and so on and forth. It made me overwhelmed at things that I should take photos at everything that we go since it is only “sometimes” and you’ll never knew when you are going back. So looking back, I should have looked at the mountains longer than my instagram post and choosing what filter matches the overlooking view. I should have talked and asked more to the people there what kind of flowers were there and what made materials were needed in the and souvenirs made of instead of buying them for the sake that I have been into that place.

2. I should have eaten a lot of strawberries there.

I never realized that I have missed strawberry when I arrived here in Cebu already. I guess it is different if it transported from one place to another? I have never tasted anything like the Strawberry Ice Cream sold for 15 pesos in La Trinidad and the Strawberry taho that was sold for 10-20 pesos to warm the bodies while exploring the city. So if there's something I would want right now. at this moment is all the strawberries I had eaten there
would come back to me instantly right now.

3. Maximize my time in exploring Teacher's Camp!

We were so lucky we had spend the night at a boarding house inside the teachers camp. Teacher's Camp is a training center accepting all American and Filipino Teachers on the year 1908 where it opened. When we stayed there it was worth 300 pesos per person on a house since we were many and it was complete on furnitures and stuffs. I should have maximize my time in exploring the teacher's camp sinc it has a lot of establishments that were American designed and named the building by influential people before in that time. I should have discovered more about American architectural designs which has impacted a lot of the educational system of the Philippines and the way we live our lives today.

4. Research more

This was my awful mistake that I don't want to commit ever again if I were to travel the world! Even though we had a guide/driver that were so lucky to have; took us to tourist spots like Burnham Park and Camp John Hay. I, on the other hand should know this and that so that I'll have a more solid background about the places we went and maybe can contribute some places that we can discover and should have enjoyed while there being there.
