Camping on the Mount Salak Track

February 2023 · 5 min read · Aceh

Hello Hivers !!! Being able to share my adventure posts with you all makes me very happy.

Since I was in school, I frequently camped in the wilderness because I liked adventure. including the occasion when I took part in a reconnaissance event that took place in the interior at the time. My early experiences have given me a fascination for outdoor activities and the natural world.

I'm always interested in taking a vacation outside of the city around various national holiday times. Since I love the intricacies of nature and forests, I typically opt to escape the bustle of the city. The best part for me is when I go on a trip to appreciate the wonders of nature.

This is the journey of a camping trip I had with some friends in a forested location, which left us feeling cool, peaceful, and surrounded by stunning beauty. We went camping and engaged in adventure sports to have fun over the weekend. The PT KKA-Bener Meriah Crossroad Forest Area in Nisam Antara, North Aceh is where we conducted our camping activity.

We use a plot of land called Alam Lestari that is located behind a popular tourist destination. We set our tent not far from the cliff, which was the ideal spot for us to take in the surrounding natural beauty of the hills, forests, and Gunong Salak's numerous tourist attractions. This place has become a popular tourist destination despite being in a forest.

Since there are numerous huts, stalls, restaurants, and other selling establishments in the Gunong Salak region, it is typically very packed with tourists on weekends. We may enjoy the outdoors and escape the bustle of the city at this lovely natural tourist destination. Many individuals have always yearned for the beauty and clean air of nature.

The restaurant Alam Lestari, which serves a range of foods and beverages to patrons, is located at my campsite as well. We proceeded from the city of Lhokseumawe to the campsite in the late afternoon at around 17.00 WIB GMT+7. We traveled by motorcycle to the campsite for at least a little more than an hour.

Because the route we followed was an asphalt road, it was simple to travel through the Simpang Elak road, Lhokseumawe, and arrive at the KKA intersection. With three motorbikes moving at the same time at a speed of 60 to 80 kilometers per hour, our group of five individuals set off. Each team provided supplies, and we prepared everything for the camping trip, including the food.

The camp feels like it has a magnificent view because of its proximity to the gorge. The Alam Lestari restaurant's position became a secure place for us to park the car when we arrived at night, so we did so right away. The analysis and observation team is crucial to this process since we put up the tent together and make sure that the area is free from wild animals.

We bring a spacious tent that is cozy for living in, one that can accommodate up to 6 people. We prepare dinner in the kitchen in the evening. The chicken curry on the supper menu is made with unique spices and cooked on a portable gas stove.

Because they are so easy to transport anywhere, especially for risky activities, portable gas stoves are a go-to item for explorers. The cooks begin their responsibilities for preparing and serving dinner. While waiting, we set up pegs to reinforce the tent poles so that it will stand solidly.

Adventure activities like this call for everyone's assistance. Everyone transforms into a team that supports one another and works together to accomplish goals while each member plays a certain function. When we are out on an adventure in the wilderness, we need to work together. Everyone must put aside their egos and behave properly in order to be able to lead both the team and themselves.

When night fell, the air got chilly and the tent's roof started to become wet. Due to the area's high altitude, we use heavy blankets to keep us warm at night when it's cold outside. We experience the sensation of nature's natural noises at night and in the morning, including certain animal screams, bird whistles, wind gusts, and the rhythm of nature's tones.

This journey is incredibly enjoyable and provides me with fresh experiences. The scenery here is gorgeous, and I love how cool the air is. Additionally, happiness is more lovely when shared with friends. I hope that by sharing my trip narrative with you all, it will inspire and help all of you. My Trip My Adventure wishes you all the best!
