Halloween Celebration at Maxim Gorky Park, Kharkiv, Ukraine..

October 2019 · 5 min read · Kharkiv Oblast

Hello everyone, Happy Weekend ...

October is here, the month of Indian summer, Fall celebration, Thanksgiving and last but not least Halloween. Well, I might miss some festivals because I don't have so much idea about Ukrainian culture still now. Upcoming October 31st, Halloween festival will be celebrated all over the world I guess.

Last year, I was been able to visit one of the Halloween festivals, here in Kharkiv. Normally, lots of private parties, club parties happen here in Halloween. I have seen many people celebrate here specially the young generation. Different clubs arrange parties and restaurants are decorated with Halloween stuff. Personally, I don't celebrate Halloween but I love to watch how people celebrate that. My culture never allowed me to celebrate Halloween even from a religious point we are not allowed to celebrate that.

So, in this post, I am not going to write about what is Halloween or something like that but I will take you into a Halloween journey which I have seen last year, 2018.

The biggest Halloween celebration always happens at Maxim Gorky Park, a well-known famous park in Kharkiv, Ukraine. This park is famous for concerts and festivals. Lots of activities available here like Ferris Wheel, movie theatre, children zone, swan lake, children railway and many more.

Before Halloween, park authority decorated the park entrance with lights and lots of pumpkins. Some pumpkins were crafted and scary/spooky look but there were all real pumpkins.. Hahaha... It was a lot of fun to watch that and was really beautifully decorated.

I went there after sunset so that I can enjoy the overall decorations and lightings. Ah, all the trees were naked and at night they gave a kind of spooky flavor. I guess, without lights, I am sure those trees will look mysterious. As this is a private park so the entire festival was arranged by Park authority. You don't need any tickets to go there and the park is free for everyone.

All people wear different types of costumes and use marks for fun. I think, this is one of the main attractions of Halloween.

In these pictures, you can see people were wearing different scary costumes and makeup/masks as well. I think they tried to represent a specific character.. Many people capture pictures with these ghosts (I am denoting them as ghosts). I also captured a picture but my look was totally inappropriate.

Look at me, this picture makes me laugh always because of so weird picture. Well, in the bucket they were collecting tips as well, people were giving them tips after capturing pictures. In fact, so many people captured pictures with them and I had to wait for my serial photoshoot... Loll.. It was funny..

The whole park was filled with lots of people because of the Halloween festival. People were really enjoying the party.

Look, what I found, a spooky dollhouse.. This is a museum and you can go inside there. Really pretty duplex structure.

Every year, a concert has been arranged for this festival and many people enjoy that concert. The Stage is infront of Ferris Wheel and it was such fun to watch.

Mainly musicians played Halloween kinds of music and the singers sang spooky and metal songs.

Another interesting thing I have bought Candy Floss which also known as cotton candy and I personally love it so much....

Look at this huge giant cotton candy.. I had to struggle a lot to handle that but children loved it so much.

The entire park was in festive, celebration mood and also looked like fair. People love this festival and celebrate it up to midnight. It was a great experience for me and let's see what this upcoming Halloween brings for everyone.

Love

Priyan...
