A Cyling Trip Through Villages in Bali

I went to a cyling trip with my clients in Bongkasa village few weeks ago. The local company which operated the cycling was called Bali Extreme cycling. (I like the sound of extreme!). That made me interested.

The cyling guide was called Wayan. (If you read many of my previous posts, you will notice that I mentioned a lot of people whose name was Wayan, yup, there are a lot of people named Wayan in Bali.)

Wayan explained how to operate the bikes to the clients and me. I have been cyling many times, so I was quite familiar with the basic. When we were ready, we went.

I went along village roads.
At the beginning of the track, we went through village roads. We passed houses, temples, farms and rice fields. Most of the people whom we met along the journey smiled or said hello to us. The kids were excited to see us.

Some time we stopped on the way to take a rest or take photos of the panorama along the village. We stopped talking to Durian farmers who were loading their durians to the a pick up truck. They would bring the durian to the nearest town to sell in the market.

We also stopped in a house and had a conversation with the owner. The owner proudly showed us his pig sty.

We stopped in a house of a local in the village who own a pig stay. In the pig stay, there were piglet with polka dots skin.

After riding bycycle for 2 hours, we finally arrived at the finish point. It was a serene area where The Pancoran Tumpang Solas or the eleven fountains in Sangeh village. It was a great point for finish, I thought.

There was a big pond with a lot of fish located just by the main road. There is a shrine in the middle of the pool. Many people seems to enjoy spending their time in this place. There were even fee local cafes for buying drink or food.

Next to the pool was a little temple. The temple has eleven fountains for conducting cleansing ritual. I saw some priests who helped the local who came to pray. I also saw people in the little pool where the 11 fountains were located.

The finish point of our cycling trip, it was a big pool whose water originated from a spring.

The water pool is quite serene, and it's home of many fish.

Next to the water pool is a temple where there were 11 fountains, a place for cleansing ritual.
