Tour to the Glamourous Camping Hotel in West Bali

November 2019 · 4 min read · Bali

Hello all steemians, I will take you on a trip to west Bali. There is an interesting hotel to visit there.

The road to this hotel was very narrow. And by the side of the road, there was green plantation, and colorful flowers which form the fences. Beyond these plants fences was a barren area. In general, north west part of Bali is very dry and barren, but it has beautiful beach.

This hotel, called Menjangan Dynasty, is not regular hotel, because the rooms were just tents. The accommodation concept of this hotel is called glamping which stands for glamorous camping.

Arriving in the Menjangan Dynasty Resort. Everything looked cleaned and neat.

It is like when you go camping, but the tent you stay has "glamorous" facility such as clean toilet, comfortable bedroom, mini bar, and of course! wifi. Well, some people may argue that this is not a real camping. No, I don't think it is a real camping either. It is designed for those who want to try camping but still want to have comfort.

The Lobby

Arriving at the lobby, I remember saying to myself, wow, what a beautiful lobby. It was made from bamboo, rattan and wood. The roof was thatched roof made from blade grass. The bigger tables were obviously made of teak wood.

Even the lady in the reception reminded me of a ranger in African safari adventure. It also reminded me of the movie Jumanji.

From one side of the lobby, you could see the bay beyond, and a buggy to take guests to their rooms.

The Rooms

Evelyn, the lady, who accompanied me and my client to look around the hotel, showed us one of the tent. It is quite small for a hotel room. To make it more believable just like the real tent, they designed the room quite small. Well, there is nothing to complain since this was just a tent.

There was a bed, a mini bar, a shower, and a toilet, basically in one room. The toilet was just covered by a bamboo cover, and the shower was just behind a curtain.

That's the toilet, do you think you feel comfortable sitting there while your friend or spouse talking to you from the bed?

The Villa

The next type of accommodation we went was villa. Unlike the rooms, villa is more spacious. The style was still the same because the building resemble tent, but the facillities was just like a proper villa. If people want more space, and comfort villa is the option. It has separate room for bed room, toilet, and living room. So much for camping.

When I finished taking photo here, we continued to the restaurants, and the beach area.

The beach was beautiful and clean since this was located in a remote area of Bali. There are hardly any local people or tourist in the beach. The beach was a bay in west Bali close to the West Bali National park.

Instead of white sand on the beach, there were stones made of broken corals and shells. It takes more thousand years more, and they will be turned into sand by the waves.

Final Words

The hotel room was a bit too small I felt. It's like you do everything in that room from sleeping, reading, updating your social media, taking a shower, toilet in the same room. This is all right, because the idea is this is a camping. When you go camping, facilities available are minimal. Even for going to toilet, you have to go on the bush. And in this tent, you don't have to go to bush toilet 😅.

This is, however, a beautiful resort located in one of the most panoramic spot in Bali. What's more, the facilities of the accomodation is just perfect.
