Borlub, A Takeaway Kebab in Bireuen Town

September 2020 · 2 min read · Aceh

Bireuen Town is a famous place in Aceh Province. It’s located at northern part of Aceh. The town is small, but it has perfect location and often called as “golden triangle”. Bireuen is among three big business city: Medan, Banda Aceh and Takengon.

Few days ago when I was in Bireuen, I enjoyed the town. The town was not really crowded in pandemic days like this. I was dropping by a kebab stall. It provided takeaway kebab, named Borlub. It’s located before BNI bank, not so far from the Major’s house.

I ordered a piece of Kebab. I was waiting there and observed how the way kebab was made.

The chef looked professional, even he just provide a takeaway kebab, and sold them on the street.

At that time he made four kebab since there are three other costumers who were waiting for Borlub Kebab. He fried kebab with some vegetables inside.

He would roll them and then fried them. The kebabs looked so tasty. But I believe, the kebab sold here is not same as kebab in Turkey or in middle east countries. The taste must be different.

I ever ate kebab in Istanbul, Turkey. The taste was wonderful. I liked it so much.

Inside this kebab, it was also given omelette other than beef. The smell was so good, that make me mouth watering.

He put omelette before the kebab was rolled on.

After they were rolled on, the kebabs were fried.

After about there minutes, the kebabs were ready cooked, ready fried. And then he wrapped them.

The price of Borlub kebab in Bireuen Town is only IDR 15,000 or about just one US Dollar.

I took my kebab away and enjoyed it in my car. After finishing my kebab, I just headed to Gayo Highland, to the south direction of Bireuen Town.
