Ulun Danu Beratan Temple, Floating on A Lake

August 2020 · 2 min read · Bali

After visiting Tanah Lot Temple, we had dinner at a local restaurant and after finishing it, we went back to our hotel, Bali Sunset Villa. We had good sleep that night.

After having breakfast, we were heading to Ulun Danu Beratan Temple. Ulun Danu Beratan Temple is a beautiful and iconic temple in Bali Island. It’s so special temple which is floating on the lake. The lake name is Beratan.

We went out from our hotel, and our driver drive to the temple. It took about two hours drive to reach the temple which is located 1200 meters above sea level.

We drove in a winding road since the lake is on a mountain. The journey was so wonderful. Upon arriving at Ulun Danu Beratan, we walked to ticket counter.

There were many visitors that day. Then we bought our ticket. The ticket price to enter this area is IDR 20,000. It’s a cheap price and we could enjoy the natural beauty for a whole day.

Then we started entering the area of the Ulun Danu Berata Temple. We walked on a path. Other visitor were also entering the place.

The garden is so large and beautiful. Many flowers and other plants grow there. We could already seen the lake.

There are many ornaments in this garden. Most of them are statues.

After walking about several minutes, we arrived before a gate. Before entering the gate, we took some pictures. The gate is so unique with the touch of Balinese arts.

Behind the gate is the temple area. The temples are floating on the lake. This is an iconic destination in Bali. You may not miss the place when visiting Bali.

I confess this place is beautiful with its natural beauty. The water of the lake was so calm.

There is a dragon statue under a bamboo tree groups. It looked a bit real.

And there was a group of tourists on a canoe. They looked so happy while doing sightseeing from the lake.

My family and I were so lucky to arrive here finally. Actually, this place wasn’t in our itinerary. But, a friend of mine told me that Ulun Danu Berata Temple is a good place to visit.
