Join me at my trip through Italy and read about, what Italy teaches my for my current journey and maybe even for my future life. đ
Why I left Germany
I started my trip to Portugal at the first of February in Germany. Normally Iâm a winter-person. I love the snow and the coldness much more than the heat. But since I live totally outside I feel that Iâm getting more and more dependent on the weather. Itâs not really the coldness outside. Itâs more the sun I missed in Germany and the grey sky made me a little bit sad.
Since I live 24/7 in my rooftop tent Iâm as independent as I never was before. I asked myself on day in the end of January:
Why should I stay in this ugly conditions?
I had no answer to this question. After this I did it like many other full-time traveller, too: I started to travel to the sun when she is not at my place. On my way I had a lot of snow again at an unusual place. But thatâs another story đ.
The way is the goal!
Portugal is the aim for this trip. But as it should ever be in life itâs the same for this route: the main goal during the travel is still âthe way is the goalâ! So I made no appointments on my way and had no restriction of time. What a nice feeling! I just feeded my navigation with âPortugalâ and started.
Italy itself
Even if I was just 5 days in Italy I had a beautiful time there. I had a lot of sun and it was my first time at the Sea for this year. You probably know already that Iâm mountain addicted, but from time to time it could be really nice to hear the sough of the Sea.
For me the temperatures of round about 15° C with the shining sun were like upcoming summer. The Italian people still walked around with their winter jackets. I had to smile about these differences between different habitants. Maybe a person from Norway would go swimming in this temperatures.
the waste again
Unfortunately itâs true what the people say. As more I come to the south, as more I find more and more waste everywhere, too. I was really frightened how much waste I found at and in the Sea. I cannot tell often enough:
Stop producing so much waste and start to free our environment from as much waste you can.
Read here more about it. Maybe you can join the cleanup today?
Italy changed my mind
I told you in the post about Switzerland, that people are that what matter in life. Nothing changed about that in my mind.
But in Italy I realized the first time that my trip might become to a journey to myself. Mostly alone.
Iâm glad being alone and have a lot of time to think about the world, my previous life and where I wanna go in future. Itâs the first time I can remember that I give myself the time for thinking about such important things. As long I can remember I always worked many hours a day. In my free time I had to calm down and rest that I charge enough energy again for the next exhausting work week.
Traveling chances really your way of thinking. But in a beautiful way! =)
Conclusion
Bit by bit I realize what this trip is for. Not only to find to myself (it always sounds too spiritual for me). I think I can grow a lot during this journey and starting to become the best version of myself I could be. I hope that I can give a lot of these things back to the people around me.

Was fĂŒr ein geiles GefĂŒhl!
