JahangirNagar University Campus is popular for its natural beauty. Also, this university is the only residential university in Bangladesh. And they have a large number of lakes and bushes surrounded by the area, and it provides a safe sanctuary for the migratory birds that arrives in this particular season.
Migratory birds (we call them 'Guest birds') is one of the major attractions of this campus for commoners. Many people visit this place only to enjoy hundreds and thousands of birds during this winter season.
Last weekend, I had the chance to visit this wonderful place. I'm sharing with you my day with some captures.
As I have said, the whole area is surrounded by a lake, ponds, and trees. You can see green everywhere. The water, green and fresh air makes it feel really charming.
The best way to visit this place is by walking around. You can get to enjoy nature and walk around the campus. It will take a while as this is a huge campus but you sure will enjoy the environment.
We visited the place during the holiday, that's why it looks a little empty. But during the afternoon, there were many people who came to visit this wonderful place.
As you can see, different faculty buildings are made out of red bricks, which is a significance of this place. It's good to see similar looking architecture in this place.
Now it's time to visit the birds!
Can you see the birds? Yeah, those are thousands of birds on the water. They are migratory birds as I have shared earlier. They are mostly duck type so lives in water. When they fry altogether in the sky, it creates a mesmerizing view.
We had handmade icecream and some coconut water while watching the birds.
Also, some beautiful waterlilies on the pond! You will get to hundreds of them laying over the water around this campus.
Also, I've found different street sellers selling different hand made items.
Now it's time to come back!
Before coming back, we visited the most significant places on this campus. It's called 'Shahid Minar'. A monument established to commemorate those killed during the Bengali Language Movement.
Also, this sculpture is quite popular!
It about a protesting student and a child, killed by gunfire, lying on his mother’s lap. This represents who was killed during the Language Movement in 1952.
It was nearly evening and that's why I couldn't capture it well.
I really enjoyed my day a lot. You can see all the different experiences from nature to food. We relaxed under the tree shades, we walk around, have a rickshaw ride, watch the birds for hours and what not!
I wish to go back there again to fill my brain with some pleasant memories which will work like a charm while living in this busy city!
