If you had not visited any swamp forest till now, maybe you should choose Ratargul Swamp Forest. I visited there once and I couldn't get over the natural beauty yet. This is such a wonder of nature where you can enjoy the freshwater of the river and get to see the forest surrounded by the river.

This place located in the Sylhet district, which is the Northwest part of Bangladesh. And the river called Gowain River.

This is how far the place is from the Sylhet district as per the map which I have taken from Google Maps. It only took us one and a half hours to reach there. The best thing is you have to hire a boat from the river bank to reach this place. That's a wonderful journey.

You can see the Satelite view which I have taken from Google Maps. The area is full of green and surrounded by the river.

Now, I'm sharing some of my old capture from my visit to this wonderful place. I have visited there in 2014. So the photo quality is not that high. But you will probably gonna like natural beauty!

How amazing, no?

The best time to visit this place is during the Rainy season, which means from April to August. During other seasons, the don't look this vibrant, full of water.

There's a watchtower. This is one of the major attractions of the place. You can see the whole area from the watchtower.

The end of the rainy season is also the best time to visit there. Because you will probably find this beautiful clear sky then. I visited there during August and got this view!

You can see the whole area from the watchtower. The area is huge and you can hire a boat to explore the whole area.

This is how the boats wait to get hired.

This area is very rural. You will see the village life of people while passing the river. This is a 'one day trip' place. There is no hotel, resort or restaurant nearby. But I have seen some vendors were selling chips, chocolates, biscuits, and water. Also, there's no restroom or something like that. But as it takes only a few hours to visit the place so I think it's okay.

Also, I really liked the idea to not have any restaurant or place where people can relax a few times. Because those will create environmental damage and pollution for sure.

This is such a wonderful place. You will probably fall in love with the freshwater and the forest once you visit there. Also, you will get to see different birds, some wild monkeys, squirrels randomly, which is a bonus I guess!
