This is the last 4 days of our trip. Much of it we've seen before and don't have many pictures. We wanted to visit some family in Iron Mountain, so we headed in that direction...sort of.
Anytime we can drive along the coast of the Great Lakes, we do. This was a little out of the way but worth it. Day 26 was made up of driving and collecting rocks on the beaches. Here is what our route looked like for the day.
We did get this picture from one of the beaches. The weather wasn't working with us, but the temps were in the 90's. This was the hottest part of our entire trip!
Day 27-30
After a short visit with family and a night of rest, we headed across the UP. We rode along the shore of Lake Michigan before coming to the Mackinaw Bridge.
The bridge is the 5th largest suspension bridge in the world. It connects the Upper and Lower Peninsula of Michigan and is 5 miles long.
At it's tallest point you're 200ft above the water, and it's 300ft deep! This is a very cool bridge and we love crossing it.
After crossing the bridge we headed South down 23 along the coast of Lake Huron. There are several State Parks along the route to choose from before we get back home.
We picked our favorite park in Harrisville. You can camp right on the shore and watch the sunrise across the water from your tent.
Here are some cool pictures we got from the shores of Lake Huron. Enjoy!
I hope you enjoyed following our cross-country road trip. It was truly the most amazing thing we've done in our lives. It's going to be very hard to top this trip...but we will give it a shot in the future.
Here is the last leg of our trip before heading back home to prepare for our next adventure!
Stay tuned for some adventures we've taken since this trip ended. We hope to hear from you in the comments and Thank You for your continued support!
