Visit the Azores #12: Aromatic green and black tea without pesticides? Only on São Miguel! (EN/GER/FR)

Do you enjoy drinking tea? No herbal or fruit tea. But real tea. Black tea or green tea. No? Are you more the coffee drinker who thinks that tea is dull and uncool? Then, until now, you never drank good tea. Really high quality stuff like this incredible Azorean tea. Aromatic, fresh and light, not bitter at all. That would be a little foretaste in words ;-) But let's start from the beginning.

From the great pineapple plantation we head off north to Chá Gorreana, a tea plantation. This tea plantation is really something unique in Europe!
It was built in 1883, covers 45 hectares today and produces 40 tons of tea a year. Large areas of the plantation are freely accessible. Thus, we start with our tea tour outdoors and take a walk through the plantation.

Chá Gorreana

We realize how much work and passion is behind this tea-making. The special thing about this green and black tea is not only that no pesticides or herbicides are used for its production. In addition, it is still traditionally prepared with ancient machines from the 19th century with the utmost care.

But enough watched and learned! We finally want to taste that fine tea! In the small shop of the Chá Gorreana you can enjoy for free black tea and green tea with delicious Portuguese pastries.

As already described - the tea is particularly mild and does not taste bitter at all. The black tea tastes very fresh, the green tea a bit nutty. Do you know green and black tea only from Lipton & Co.? Then you’d better leave your fingers from that shitty stuff and enjoy high quality tea! It really makes a big difference! Especially as Europeans, this is an absolute must-do! More organic and aromatic in one is not possible! And if you really want to follow our advice and buy Azorean tea, then we recommend Orange Pekoe as black tea and Hysson as green tea.

Aromatischer Grün- und Schwarztee ohne Pestizide? Nur auf São Miguel!

Trinkt ihr gerne Tee? Keinen Kräuter- oder Früchtetee. Sondern richtigen Tee. Schwarztee oder Grüntee. Nein? Seid ihr eher die Kaffeetrinker? Dann lasst euch vom unglaublichen Aroma des Azorentees überzeugen! Unglaublich aromatisch, kaum bitter, blumig-frisch. Das wäre ein kleiner Vorgeschmack in Worten ;-) Aber starten wir von vorne.

Von der tollen Ananasplantage aus fahren wir in Richtung Norden der Insel zur Chá Gorreana, einer Teeplantage. Diese Teeplantage ist wirklich etwas Einzigartiges in Europa!
Sie wurde 1883 erbaut, umfasst heute 45 Hektar und produziert 40 Tonnen Tee im Jahr. Große Flächen der Plantage sind frei zugänglich. Somit starten wir mit unserer Teetour im Freien und machen einen Spaziergang durch die Plantage.

Chá Gorreana

Wir entdecken, wie viel Arbeit und Leidenschaft hinter diesem Tee steckt. Das Besondere an diesem Grün- und Schwarztee ist nicht nur, dass für dessen Herstellung keinerlei Pestizide oder Herbizide verwendet werden. Er wird zudem immer noch traditionell mit uralten Maschinen aus dem 19. Jahrhundert mit größter Sorgfalt aufbereitet.

Aber genug angesehen und gelernt! Wir möchten endlich den feinen Tee verkosten!
Im kleinen Laden der Chá Gorreana kann man kostenlos Schwarztee und Grüntee bei leckerem portugiesischen Gebäck genießen.

Teepause

Wie schon beschrieben – der Tee ist besonders mild und schmeckt überhaupt nicht bitter. Der Schwarztee schmeckt blumig-frisch, der Grüntee etwas nussig. Kennt ihr Grün- und Schwarztee nur von Lipton & Co.? Dann lasst davon lieber in Zukunft die Finger und genießt besser high quality tea! Gerade als Europäer ein absoluter muss! Mehr Bio und Aroma in einem geht nicht!
Und falls ihr tatsächlich unseren Rat befolgt und azoreanischen Tee kaufen wollt, dann empfehlen wir euch den Orange Pekoe als Schwarztee und der Hysson als Grüntee.

Thé vert et noir aromatique sans pesticides? Seulement sur São Miguel

Aimez-vous boire du thé? Pas de tisane ou de thé aux fruits. Mais du vrai thé. Thé noir ou thé vert. Non? Êtes-vous plus le buveur de café qui pense que le thé est ennuyeux? Alors, jusqu'à présent, vous n'avez jamais bu de bon thé. Quelque chose de haute qualité comme cet incroyable thé des Açores. Aromatique, frais et léger, pas du tout amer. Cette description vous devra suffire en tant qu’avant –goût ;-) Mais commençons par le début.

De la grande plantation d'ananas , nous nous dirigeons vers le nord en direction de Chá Gorreana, une plantation de thé. Cette plantation de thé est vraiment unique en Europe!
Construit en 1883, elle couvre aujourd'hui 45 hectares et produit 40 tonnes de thé par an. De grandes zones de la plantation sont librement accessibles. Ainsi, nous commençons par notre tournée de thé en plein air et nous promenons dans la plantation.

Après une longue marche, nous commençons à explorer la maison de thé.

Chá Gorreana

Nous réalisons combien de travail et de passion se cache derrière cette fabrication de thé. La particularité de ce thé vert et noir n’est pas seulement qu’aucun pesticide ou herbicide n’est utilisé pour sa production. De plus, il est toujours préparé avec le plus grand soin avec des machines anciennes du 19ème siècle.

Mais assez vu et appris! Nous voulons enfin goûter ce bon thé! Dans la petite boutique du Chá Gorreana , vous pouvez déguster gratuitement du thé noir et du thé vert avec de délicieuses pâtisseries portugaises.

Pause thé

Comme on l’a déjà décrit, le thé est particulièrement doux et n'a pas du tout un goût amer. Le thé noir a un goût très frais, le thé vert un petit goût noisette. Connaissez-vous le thé vert et noir uniquement de Lipton & Co.? Alors, vous feriez mieux de ne plus toucher ces ordures et de savourer un thé de haute qualité ! Cela fait vraiment une grande différence! Surtout en tant qu'Européens, c'est un must-do absolu! Plus organique et aromatique en un n'est pas possible! Et si vous voulez vraiment suivre notre conseil et acheter du thé des Açores, alors nous vous recommandons Orange Pekoe comme thé noir et Hysson comme thé vert.
