The Shougatsu(New year) Koma shrine

Hello steemians!
I am RYO!

I visited a shrine today!
In Japan, the New Year is called "Shougatsu(正月)"
The Japanese go to a shrine in the Shougatsu and go to pray for a peaceful life of the year.
So Shougatsu is when the shrine is the busiest in the year.

Since I like shrines, I visit various shrines.
This shrine is a shrine that I often post with steemit, this name's Koma Jinjya(高麗神社).
Jinjya=shrine

There are so many people,
About 200,000 people visit Koma Shrine of the Shougatsu

The number of visitors to the shrine is the most common on January 1 and then people will gradually decrease.

A visited people are decreasing now, but still enough

Here is the place of prayer.

This shrine is shining golden color, very beautiful.

Various items are sold at the shrine,
For example this is a product that will be a guardian god of the house.

And this is an "ema(絵馬)"

The back of the ema is blank, so write myself wish of that year there.

And a boar is drawn in the ema.
"Why boar?"

In Japan there is a culture called "Eto(干支)"
Every time the year changes as there are 12 animals, the animals representing that year change in turn

The order is Eto…↓
Mouse, cow, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, sheep, monkey, chicken, dog, boar

Last year dog, this year boar, so next year mouse

By the way, the year when I was born was a Snake's Eto.
So I am Snakeman🐍😆

Everywhere is exciting in January due to Shougatsu shrine!

I will continue to travel the shrine of the Shougatsu as it is still!

Thank you for reading!
