ENJOYING THE CRYSTAL CLEAR WATER OF MALAPASCUA ISLAND

ENJOYING THE CRYSTAL CLEAR WATER OF MALAPASCUA ISLAND

July 2022 · 4 min read · Cebu

Malapascua Island is located at the Northern part of my Hometown, which is Cebu, Philippines. More than ten years ago, I was supposed to go there together with my sisters but due to some conflict of my schedule with some important event that I needed to attend, I wasn't able to do so. Since it's an island, it takes some time to go there and many years ago the island wasn't that accessible yet and quite expensive. Years have passed as I have went to different places here in my hometown, yet I wasn't able to experience Malapascua Island itself. That's why last May, when my colleagues had planned to go there for one night, I just can't say no. I took it as a sign for me that I really have to go there even just for one night stay.

We rented a van to pick us up from Capitol to Maya Port Daanbantayan. Prior to the date, we have already arranged a boat for us to reach the island from Maya Port.

We have also booked our stay at one of the famous resort in the Island, at Malapascua Legend Resort.

Upon our arrival, this friendly dog have welcomed us with her friendly gesture. We were also welcomed by the staff of the resort with some welcome drinks.

According to our senior colleague, Engr. Fernan, the resort was the first resort in the Island and quite famous to most guest because it is located near the beach front. The resort was quite old already but it is still beautiful and clean.

There were plenty of neighboring resorts that you can explore if you're in the island. We have explore a little too and had some happy time at the nearby resort.

We had some 🍹cocktail drinks like tequila 🍸 and some rum coke. We had some pizza and some fries too. It was actually fun to have those drinks during happy hour because the drink is buy one take one. 😉 Indeed, it was a happy hour for us!

We went to exotic dive and resort for our dinner and had some booze too. And we were glad that it was the last call for happy hour when we transferred to exotic dive and resort. We have actually witnessed a beautiful & romantic set up for dinner for a couple celebrating their anniversary. 🥰 It was indeed a very sweet evening for them.

How I wish it was me :) lol

After our dinner we went to our neighboring resort to listen to some Live band and drink some beer before we head back to sleep. I think we were up until 12 midnight and the following day, before we went back home we did some island hopping.

It was actually raining the second day, that's why the photos were a little gloomy since Mr. sun didn't show up that day. Still, we have enjoyed swimming and had so much fun exploring another nearby island.

We have climbed this cliff in the island too, have explored quite beautiful views for photo op. What do you think? Beautiful right?

It was quite a beautiful experience and if given a chance I'd like to go back there and stay for atleast three days. One night isn't enough for me to fully appreciate the island. Also, I'd like to swim with the thresher sharks next time. This island was famous because of the thresher sharks and beautiful marine life.
