Hello mid-west and congratulation on this spectacular spectacle of lights!!!
Unbelievable... The first thing I said when we got in was "Oh wow, this is the Chinese Burning Man! ".
Heehee, for those of you not familiar with Burning Man, I invite you to check out some photos here and after that if you're still interested in knowing more... here is the official website, it's a pretty incredible experience! Some claim it to be The Festival of All Festivals (than I've also heard it being called the grandmother of Festivals while Glastonbury is the Grandfather!)
The Dragon Lights Festival
Anyone in the area this festival goes on till the 6th of January at the Columbus Expo Center (in Ohio, USA). It is well worth a drive to it, we were all impressed... from 4 year olds to 68 year olds!!!
From the great entrance!
The great blue elephant, that changed color when someone peddled a bicycle hooked up to the system.
Through the hall of jellyfish...
That was when I mentioned Burning Man, I really felt like I was there for a moment. All the lights and amazement gabe me a boost of energy!
At some point we were in a Water World:
Walking through the inside of the shark!
All the work that it must have taken to put together is beyond my imagination... Wire frames spot welded into shape, with tulle-like material of different colors cut, sewn and glued right where it needs to be and than all the ligjts and wires for them all... it was endless, I have too many photos to put in here but I think as is, you got the point of this awesome little trip!!!
I defenitely want to come back next time we're in town, this time of the year!
Ok, a couple more photos...
Ok ok that's all because otherwise I'll keep posting all the photos I took... gotta keep some that never get published!
