Meet Eva Armisen @Seoul Arts Center in Korea

Today my friend and I went to see Eva Armisen’s paintings exhibited at Seoul Arts Center, art complex consist of a Music Hall, an Opera House, Art Galleries, National Gugak(Traditional Korean Music) Center, Academy of Arts and other buildings for various artistic purposes.

We were thankful for it was a little warmer than the last couple of days. :)

We went to one of two art galleries and there were also Picasso and John Lennon exhibitions.

When we finally got to the third floor for Eva Armisen exhibition there were so many people including families with children who must have been enjoying their winter school break.

Eva Armisen is a Spanish artist who’s quite loved by many Koreans. Several years ago I even had a T shirt with her illustration work on it :)

Most of her works are about flowers, family, friends, pets and nature. What she tries to show us is the importance of daily life. According to the brochure she uses quite warm colors and gentle lines. And the paintings are full of happy and positive vibes that even make you happy.

The entire area was illustrated with her paintings which I heard Eva herself came to Korea and did paint on the outer wall of the exhibition room.

They displayed even some dishes with her works on them.

Taking photos were not allowed in the room but I took some from on the wall outside.
Well, how do you like them? Aren't they so cute and pretty?

I think she has a special talent to display her message in a very simple and straightforward way. Art does not always have to be difficult and serious.. well that's what I think but what do I know about art :P

There were some photo zones crowded with many people who were waiting for their turn to sit with the figures. (I am not sure what you call this kind of thing in English.)

오늘 예술의전당 한가람미술관에서 전시중인 에바알머슨의 그림을 보고 왔습니다.

팜플랫에 의하면 그녀의 그림은 따뜻한 컬러와 부드러운 선으로 가득차 있고 평범한 일상의 소중함을 일깨워 준다고 하네요. 저는 그냥 귀엽고 예쁘고 따뜻한 느낌이 들어서 좋더라구요. 몇 년 전 이분의 작품이 프린트된 티셔츠를 입고 다니기도 했었구요~

토요일이고 아이들 방학이라서 그런지 관람객이 정말 많아서 화가분의 인기를 실감하겠더라구요. 이분은 제 생각엔 유난히 한국에서 많은 사랑을 받고 계신듯 했거든요 그래서 그런지 남산 타워, 북촌 풍경, 한식 상차림을 주제로 한 그림으로 한국에 대한 자신의 애정을 표현 하셨더라구요.

전시실 내부에서는 촬영 금지였는데 다행히 전시실 외벽이 온통 이분의 그림으로 장식되어 있었구요. 여우 탈을 쓴 그림은 제목이 '불여우-밖은 추워요' 였는데 여자분들에게 인기가 많았어요 ㅎㅎ

대형 인형이 세워져 있어서 기념사진 촬영도 가능하구요. 전시는3월 31일까지 계속 됩니다. 관심 있으신 분은 주말보다는 가능하면 평일에 가시는게 더 나을것 같아요.
