Lisbon - what a treat!

Lisbon - what a treat!

February 2019 · 2 min read · Santa Maria Maior

Coming from the cold, grey, windy Netherlands, we were ready for some SUN. We picked Portugal because both of us had wanted to go for some time and, although not usually warm in February, it still meant heading south ;).

Booking through Airbnb has lead us to some interest accommodation in the past (especially when booking cheap city accommodation!) but, as you can see in the first part of the video, Small absolutely nailed it this time! The room we had was just a couple of minutes walk from the centre, and what a view - amazing!

Convento Do Carmo, well, the ruins of it to be precise, was one of our favourite spots we explored on our first day in Lisbon. Very impressive to see the skeleton of this Catholic convent and imagine all the stories it could tell!

The day ended a little earlier than we expected with a trip to Time Out Market…so much good food! What we thought would be a snack turned into dinner, two great desserts and a food coma that landed us in bed early that night. With dishes rotating from once a week up to three years, Time Out Market claims to have the best steak, the best burgers and the best sushi in various stalls. We want to add best octopus to that!! It was Tall’s first octopus experience and definitely one to remember! Meanwhile Small fell in love with a local speciality: tarte de amendoa.

Lisbon is an amazing city - there is so much to see and it’s all within walking distance! This video combines snippets from our first day exploring but the following days kept getting better. Next we’ll show you our tram 28 adventure- something we both loved!

This video has been shot with a GoPro HERO 7 Black. If you have any tips or ideas about the filming and the editing please let us know - we’re still new at this!
