He visitado muchos países en Europa.

[EN] In the pre-corona era, I used to travel a lot. Imagine that only in 2019 I had 149 flights for business. My last trip - in March 2020 - was to Australia. In this article I am going to take you for a tour of Sydney, Australia's largest city.

[PL] W czasach przed-COVIDowych dużo podróżowałem służbowo. W samym tylko roku 2019 odbyłem 149 lotów. Moja ostatnia delegacja - marzec 2020 - to Australia.

Entonces voy a empezar mi visita allí.

[EN] Since my hotel in Sydney was located between the Chinatown and Darling Harbour, I am going to start my our there. My first destination was the Chinese Garden of Friendship. It has been created in partnership with Sydney's sister city - Guangzhou.

[PL] Mój hotel znajdował się pomiędzy Chinatown a Darling Harbour.

[EN] The garden is located close the city center, in the busy district around Darling Harbour. Surrounded by office buildings, hotels, concert hall and shopping mall etc, the garden is an oasis of tranquility.

[EN] The garden is obviously designed in a Chinese style. There are many objects characteristically Chinese - pavilions, tea house, dragon sculptures. In the center there is a pond with fish.

[EN] Look at the two dragons above. They are friends. The gold one symbolizes Chinese Canton, the blue one - New South Wales in Australia.

[PL] Zwróć uwagę na dwa smoki powyżej. Są ze sobą zaprzyjaźnione. Ten złoty to symbol chińskiego Kantonu, a niebieski - Nowej Południowej Walii w Australii.

Darling Harbour

[EN] Darling Harbour is an old cargo harbor converted into a modern district. Its icon is a revolving bridge, designed to allow yachts and tall ships to sail by.

[PL] Darling Harbour to dawny port towarowy.

[EN] I liked to wander about the Darling Harbour after work. My favorite ice cream shop was there as well :-) However, the place I spent the most time in, was the Maritime Museum. There are three parts - history of immigration and settlement in New South Wales, natural history of the sea and Australian Navy history.

[EN] History is very interesting to me. I like reading historical books and learning important facts. For example, I found a representation of the Globe from early XVII century. Back then, Europeans did not know how vast Australia was and the continent was known as "New Holland".

[EN] In the natural history part of the museum, I saw some sea monsters. The interior of Australia used to be under water. Archeologists discovered skeletons of giant animals that looked like dragons.

[EN] Outside of the building there are two retired ships of the Australian Navy. The guide used to work in the shipyard were one of them was built. When he talked about the ship, it was with an affection of a father proud of his children.

[EN] The view is spectacular. We can see the Sydney Harbour with the iconic Opera House and equally famous Harbour Bridge. To the east the Pacific is visible and the Blue Mountains to the west. However, my favorite view was to the south - the Botanic Garden.

[PL] The view is spectacular. Możemy popatrzeć na Zatokę Sydney z dobrze znanym budynkiem Opery i równie słynnym mostem. W kierunku wschodnim widać Pacyfik, a na zachód Góry Błękitne. Mój ulubiony widok to ten na południe. Znajduje się tam Ogród Botaniczny.
