Almost everybody would agree that the passing year 2020 was a special one. For me it meant switching from travel-intensive work (155 flights last year!) to home office. It also meant more hiking in my home country than travelling abroad. Let me share my impressions of the Year 2020 in 12 Photos - March.
Photo of the month
Just before the Covid-19 pandemic went global, I had traveled to Australia. Quite a crazy work schedule. I had to do trainings in Perth, Brisbane, Sydney and Canberra. In that order. After an exhausting week with crisscrossing the continent, I had a weekend for myself. I used it fully. I was able to see a bit of Blue Mountains. I managed also to get to the highest peak of continental Australia - Mt. Kosciuszko. Next, a week's work in Sydney. Then things got really interesting... As Poland and other countries were closing they borders, I spent five additional days trying to get a flight back. I made it on the penultimate flight from Sydney to London and from there to home.
A month rich in adventures results in the three photos, all from Australia. Number one is Mt Kosciuszko - Australia's highest continental peak. Only one photo, as per my own rules of the "Year 2020 in 12 Photos" series. However, you can read the full story in my earlier post on PeakD.
Runner Up
My choice for the runner-up photo is the Opera House in Sydney. Famous and iconic, it is most often portrayed from the harbor. However I took a photo from the other side. There's a park which goes down almost the Opera. Standing there, I captured the green lawn and the Opera. You can also see the Sydney Harbor bridge.
Also on the podium
I spent one full day in the Blue Mountains. Obviously, I had to see the Three Sisters. It is a group of three rocks eroded by the elements. There's a beautiful Aboriginal legend about the rocks. If you encourage me enough, I will write a separate post on my Blue Mountains hike and will retell the legend.
Stay Tuned
This was the third post in the series Year 2020 in 12 Photos - March. I will post consecutive months over the last 12 days of December 2020. Stay tuned!
