GR 131 Camino Natural Anaga - Chasna (Day 5)

After the wake-up night, I managed to fall asleep for a while when all the occupants of the room set out for the summit on sunrise. The only downside was that I had to leave the room by 7am, so about an hour before sunrise. At least I had time to get ready for the sunrise in front of the cottage. From the east it was quite cloudy and so it did not look hopeful.

Po probdělé noci se mi podařilo na chvíli usnout když všichni obyvatelé místnosti vyrazili na východ slunce na vrchol. Jediná nevýhoda byla, že jsem musel opustit místnost do 7 hodiny ranní, takže asi hodinu před východem slunce. Alespoň jsem měl čas se pořádně připravit na východ slunce před chatou. Od východu bylo poměrně zamračeno a tak to nevypadalo nadějně.

Then I exchanged a few words with the man who also didn't go to the top. He recommended me a restaurant in La Esperanza and disappeared down the hill. I waited for a while whether red light would appear again through the clouds.

Poté jsem prohodil pár slov s mužem, který také nešel na vrchol. Doporučil mi restauraci v La Esperanza a zmizel dolu z kopce. Já jsem ještě chvíli čekal zda se objeví opět červené světlo skrze mraky.

Standing at the top of the mountain in this light, at times I felt like I was on another planet. In two minutes it was all over and so I packed things I bought Coke in a vending machine because they didn't have water. And he started down the hill. At the foot of Teide, the landscape has turned into a sandy desert with massive boulders that the volcano ejected during its last eruption in the Middle Ages.

Stát při tomto světle na vrcholku hory, chvílemi jsem si připadal že jsem na jiné planetě. Za dvě minuty bylo po všem a tak jsem sbalil věci koupil Colu v automatu, jelikož vodu neměli. A vyrazil směrem dolů z kopce. Na úpatí Teide se krajina změnila v písčitou poušť s mohutnými balvany, které sopka vyhodila při své poslední erupci ve středověku.

I had half a liter of Cola and the rest of the candies to travel through this desert. A harsh reality where one realizes how inhospitable this environment is, 20 degrees plus during the day and frost at night.Along the S-6 I came to the El Portillo junction, where there is a restaurant. There I bought a homemade sandwich baguette and 4 liters of water. Refreshment was in place and after a short rest I started down the hill again. The landscape changed again and changed more and more quickly. From the desert to the pine forests, through the Eucalyptus forests to all sorts of scrub. Just something I haven't seen in 4 days. Even the puddles on the road indicated that it was raining in this part of the island. Around a few mines, I reached a picnic spot.

Na cestu skrz tuto poušť jsem měl půl litru Coly a zbytek bonbónů. Krutá to realita kde si člověk uvědomí jak je toto prostředí nehostinné, přes den 20 stupňů plus a v noci mráz.
Po trase S-6 jsem došel na křižovatku El Portillo, kde je i restaurace. Tam jsem si koupil domácí obloženou bagetu a 4 litry vody. Osvěžení bylo na místě a po krátkém odpočinku jsem se pustil opět z kopce dolu. Krajina se zase změnila a měnila se stále rychleji. Z pouště do borových lesů, přes Eukalyptové lesy po všelijaké křoviny. Prostě něco co jsem 4 dny neviděl. Dokonce i louže na silnici značila, že v této části ostrova prší. Kolem několik dolů jsem došel k piknikovému místu.

The picnic site is called Área Recreativa La Caldera. As I explored the site, I came across familiar faces that drunk me in a cottage on Teide. I don't even know how and again I had alcohol in my hand. So I decided to spend the night and then spend the day relaxing. Finally, this meeting became the end of my trip to GR 131 this year. As a gardener, I could not resist visiting the botanical gardens in Puerto de la Cruz, and the situation turned out to have been spent the next few days with this group of great people and visited places I definitely didn't plan to visit.

Piknikové místo se jmenuje Área Recreativa La Caldera. Při prozkoumávání místa jsem narazil na známé tváře, které mě opíjeli na v chatě na Teide. Ani nevím jak a opět jsem měl v ruce alkohol. Rozhodl jsem se tedy přenocovat a pak den strávit odpočinkem. Nakonec se z tohoto setkání stal konec mojí cesty po GR 131 pro tento rok. Jakožto zahradník jsem neodolal návštěvě botanické zahrady v Puerto de la Cruz a situace se vyvrbila tak že jsem několik dalších dní strávil s touto skupinku skvělých lidí a navštívil místa, která jsem rozhodně neměl v plánu navštívit.

The fifth day was probably the most comfortable I had on GR 131. I walked 24.3 km and climbed 2508 meters.

I returned to GR 131 in 2018 to humiliate this route, but about it in other reports. Because when you read this, I'm probably starting to humiliate the European long-distance route E4 on its easternmost part.

Na GR 131 jsem se vrátil v roce 2018 abych tuto trasu pokořil, ale o tom v dalších reportech. Protože když toto čtete pravděpodobně začínám pokořovat Evropskou dálkovou trasu E4 na své nejvýchodnější části.
