Monochrome Series: A photographer waiting for the bus

April 2018 · 2 min read · Área Metropolitana de Lisboa

You can take pictures anywhere, anytime.

I have to remind myself sometimes it's not always about going places, reaching new mountain tops, traveling further and further from home.

It's why I started my 'Slice of HOME' series, what you can see in my 'Through a dirty train window series', and also in a few future projects I will publish on this platform.

Here, for example, I'm just waiting for the bus, in Lisbon, suddenly impressed by the small but high trees forming vertical lines alongside the unattractive and very 'unlike Lisbon' buildings.

Now I could have taken a step forward, but by letting the roof of the bus stop in the picture I'm creating a frame plus telling you, the viewer, more about me, where I am, what I might be doing, as the photographer.

It's an exercise we can all do and might teach you to look more deeply into a photograph: what can I tell about the photographer, only by looking at his or her picture?

If you have some interesting finds or want me to tell something about you by looking at your picture feel free to leave a comment :-)
