Central and Victoria Harbour 中环维多利亚港

What can you do with a couple of hours transit time in Hong Kong? Well, maybe you can go check out Victoria Harbour at Central. Taking the Airport Express, the heart of Hong Kong is only 25 minutes away.

在香港中转怎样打发时间？如果有几个小时以上，可以乘坐机场快线到中环逛逛，看看维多利亚港。从机场直达香港的中心地带只需二十五分钟！

The Hong Kong Station on the airport express line is located in Central, Hong Kong’s central business district. Coming out from the station, you can immediately feel the hustle and bustle of a big city. The roads are choke full with double decker buses, vans and taxis, as well as the old style tram with its characteristic chimes that can only be found on Hong Kong Island. And then there were the massive number of people. Walking on streets of Hong Kong, you might feel that the whole city is on fast forward. Even pedestrians seems to be moving double the normal walking speed, and sometimes you just can’t help to walk faster just so that you can fit in with the rhythm of the city.

机场快线香港站位于中环，这里是香港商务和金融的中心地带。从地铁站出来就可以感受到这个都市的繁华。街道上车水马龙，拥挤着各种的士、双层巴士和小巴，还有港岛独有的旧式电车，在路轨上”叮~叮~”的响着。当然还有无数快速走动着的行人。在街道上走着，感觉整个城市都像被按了快键一样。有时候不自觉的被城市的律动引领下越走越快。

From the CBD there are many pedestrian overhead walkways that goes all the way to the harbour. From here you can have a look at the ever-changing skyline of both sides of the Victoria Harbour. When I was there, there was a massive construction site at the harbour front, but that is the norm in Hong Kong anyway – reclaiming of new land to expand the usable land area of the city, and constructions of bigger and taller buildings and complexes for shops, apartments, offices or new subway tracks. Through the construction sites you can take a glimpse of the shiny skyscrapers of different shapes and designs, as architects tried to make their design stand out in the dense skyline. The most recognisable building of the Hong Kong skyline is still the Bank of China building with its triangular facades. You can also see that Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre with the bird-like rooftop, standing out in the Victoria Harbour.

在中环有很多行人天桥，可以沿着天桥走到海旁。在天桥上可以看到这城市变幻莫测的天际线。我去的时候，海旁都是工地。当然，在香港工地是非常普遍的，这个城市无时无刻都在变化，更高更大的高楼，商业中心每天都从平地而起。工地背后密集着设计新颖的高楼大厦，每一栋都想成为维港天际线的主角。然而最出名的还是三角外墙的中银大厦。当然还有在维港中心展翅的香港会议展览中心。

Near the Harbourside Ferry Wharf is the perfect place to take in the view of the Victoria Harbour and the skyline of Kowloon Peninsular on the opposite side of the harbour. Unlike the Hong Kong Island side, the Kowloon Peninsular is dominated by more historical and artsy buildings, such as the Clock tower that dated back to 1913 and the Curvy Hong Kong Cultural Centre. Being the main transport route through Hong Kong, the Victoria Harbour is always busy with many different types of water transportation, ranging from the humble star ferry and historical Junk Boat, to the extravagant Cruise Liners.

从中环码头可以欣赏到维多利亚港和对岸九龙半岛的风景。九龙的天际线比起香港岛看上去更优雅和有艺术感。其中的主角是1913年所建的钟楼和外型富有曲线美的香港文化中心。维多利亚港上船只众多，从平民化的天星小轮，高级的大型游轮，到历史悠久的木帆船，都可以在这看到。

From here, you can loop back to the airport express station in less than 10 minutes. Very convenient. So next time if you have time to kill when you are transiting through Hong Kong, do consider heading to Central and the Victoria Harbour, and give yourself a taste of this amazing metropolis!
从码头回到地铁站只需十分钟，可以说非常方便。所以如果你下次去香港中转有时间的话，可以考虑到中环转转啊！
