A Day Out at Qutub Minar, India. [Once the highest monument]

May 2019 · 4 min read · Delhi

I was turning back and front, left and right trying to get the complete picture. A thought of owning a professional camera strikes in my mind too. #drawingqueen was laughing as well and have no clue. I am facing difficulty in taking a complete shot of "Qutub Minar" with my Nokia phone.

The monument is iconic and landmark in India. Once the highest monument built by Qutbuddin Aibak has a height of 72.5 Meter and has a nice story behind. Most interesting that it took 3 different ruler to complete this iconic monument. Which is unbelievable .

It all begin on a winter Sunday morning, when, sudden curiosity of #drawingqueen forced me to take her to visit the historical monument. She studied about these monument in her academics and now privilege of staying in Delhi to watch the monuments in real. When it comes about study, I won't lack behind, so boarded the metro and took her Mehrauli , Delhi to visit the amazing Monument.

It was quite a rush outside the monument and many visitors came their to take a tour. Many tourist were relaxing outside the ticket counter. I too manage my ticket costing Rs.40. And #drawingqueen is exempted because of age( she is still 11). If you are foreign national then you have to pay little more. The government rules. And then we head pass the security check to enter the grand Qutb Complex.

We met with the history, as we started our tour. The first glimpse was the grand passage way made up of stones. Though now, this is a make shift water drinking place for all.

But there might be some history behind too along the passage. There is nothing much here except some imaginary stories. So we move on, we are getting closer to the monument. And because of its height the monument is easily visible from far off.
However, further moving ahead, the big sprawling Green Garden caught #drawingqueen eyes .

Admiring the greenery and taking selfies here and their, we reached near to the monument. Standing beside the monument The feeling of "elf" came in my mind. IT WAS BIG!!

IT WAS GIGNATIC !! Pillars all along, and built so fantastically. Simply outstanding standing near to the monument. So many questions about the built process striking my mind, and then the History. Which always remain a mystery for many. So does to me. Thanks to the Archaeologist department, they have made all arrangement to make people aware with all kind of details, near to the monument. Help me to know some real facts about this great monuments.

Knowing about the history, and the story behind, once I feel it has some bad omen that's why it took so long to complete. Anyway, unable to take a complete perfect picture , I started to take shots in pieces. Like the inscribed art on the pillars.

The site tells so many stories. Unable to take a good shot, I move bit far away to manage some nice angle. And I did take few more shots.

We spend a good 2hrs , roaming and here and there, taking selfies, learning history, and knowing some unknown facts. #drawingqueen simply enjoyed the place. Afterall she is witnessing history which was till that time was only in books. And now she explore the history in real. Finally we head home, with many stories and moments all along.

Stay Calm....
