#1 Wahabi Sands, Oman - Tripreport VII

Our first featured post today is from @worldcapture, he went to the Wahabi Sands Desert in Oman. He started off with a two hour bus ride from Muscat to Ibra. Oddly enough the bus was the only place in Oman where he got decent wifi. At Ibra, he booked himself on a small shared car tour along with a Dutch couple to visit the desert. At 3pm the driver came to pick them up for their three hour tour. They started off driving around the desert, and up and down the desert dunes. Then the driver dropped them off in the desert so they could wander around whilst watching the sun set at the golden desert.

#2 China #6: On the tracks of the Emperor - the Forbidden City (1/2) [EN/GER]

Next up is @roadtrips who visits the Forbidden City in China. Getting to the Forbidden City is a bit like fighting a battle. They start their journey by riding the busy early morning subway, and once they get off, fight with the many local tourists to get to the tourist hotspots. There's a wild queue to get pass the main entrance, another wild queue to the ticket window, then another queue to go through security where they check your passport and body scan you. Finally they get into the Forbidden City - where there are more tourists!

#3 Let's travel together #90 - Cheile Vălișoarei & Castelul Templul Cavalerilor (Vălișoara Gorges & The Temple of the Knights Castle)

@gabrielatravels takes us to visit a 700 hundred year old castle in Romania. The Temple of the Knights Castle fell into derelict after the second world war till it was redeveloped into a restaurant and hotel. It is nestled between four peaks ranging from 425m to 779m high. The beautiful natural gorge is the perfect home for rare species of bats and invertebrates as well as many rare plants. It is also popular with paragliders and alpinists.
