The Marais is one of the more up and coming districts in Paris. Its popularity is from the various shopping venues and shops that sell curated items for collectors and avid shoppers to visit. But behind the curtains, the restaurant scene is on the rise and Grand Coeur has brought in the upscale dining to the district with class.
The location
Unlike any restaurant location, the Grand Coeur is hidden away in a cobbled courtyard surrounded by music and dance. Juxtaposed from the restaurant is a Center for Dance, and a Performing arts theater to the right, so throughout your meal ballerinas pirouette to classical recitals, zumba dancers pop to the beat, and jazz dancers get ready for their next class.
The center for dance on the opposite side of the restaurant. Dance your night away as you wait for your dinner to be served, free live entertainment and music is available from these institutions.
The restaurant has an outdoor seating area, where at night switches up to a romantic spot for a night out on the town.

The dishes
The place is run by a Michelin starred chef Mauro Colagreco, and the dishes live up to the standard.
For a start, we ordered an amazing burrata cheese with pistachio nuts crumbled on top and tomato puree with spinach leaves.
On the side some salad to taste as well.
Just the beginning, where only our starters are served. But must mention how soft and aromatic the bread was. Especially when dipped with the olive oil served on the side.
Next up our unforgettable mains.
The lamb and cauliflower. No explanations needed. This dish was remarkably juicy and the lamb so tender that the cauliflower and lamb both melted as I chewed.
And a slice of veal and some legumes grilled. A simple dish, but the meat was cooked to perfection. Pink and medium rare in the middle and well done on the outer layer creating both a crisp and a juicy bite simultaneously.
The Grand Coeur isn't a posh nor a fancy place, but dress to please as the restaurant's other guests are in a business casual. Other than that don't hesitate to visit, as reservations are easy to make and the food is definitely recommended. Let the music fill the courtyard as you fill your belly.
