Villa Uspallata is one of the places you can not miss if you love peace, tranquility, good landscapes and adrenaline recreational activities such as climbing or skiing, Villa Uspallata is located in the province of Mendoza, Argentina and it constitutes an excellent tourist lodge of incomparable landscapes with rivers and mountains, natural bridges, and surprising natural wonders. It is also the necessary route to get to Chile from Argentina.

Between one of the most important landscapes of Argentina, with almost 7,000 masl, is the Cerro Aconcagua, one of the most visited places of Uspallata in the province of Mendoza, every year many tourists and climbers are attracted to "the highest Mountain of America ", which is ideal for the practice of climbing for those who love adrenaline and risk. Personally, I had a lot of desire to venture to a journey of such magnitude, but unfortunately I did not have the proper preparation but it's still on my things to do list. And I hope you all get the spirit and visit it too.

Located in the department of Las Heras, in Mendoza, Argentina, it is a curious and dazzling rock formation that forms a natural bridge over the Las Cuevas River, to which many stories and legends are attributed as they try to explain their strange formation and that envelop its visitors as a whole of the picturesqueness of the place, it's considered that its name is due to the constant visits of the natives of this culture and one of the stories that is handled the origin of the mystic of the majestic bridge, told by the guides of my expedition and to which Alfredo de Giusti makes reference in his complete and curious article and that I also recommend you: ”Recuerdos de Puente del Inca" that tells that:

Time before the arrival of the Spaniards, a chief of the Inca tribe had a sick child affected by paralysis and after trying all kinds of cures without result he heard that land to the south there was a place where healing waters could end their misfortune. Without thinking, he prepared a group with the best warriors and went to the high peaks. When he arrived, he observed the famous healing waters of the place, but before them there was a torrential river that prevented him from arriving. Their warriors, to make their boss's dream come true, embraced each other and formed a human bridge to make it reach the other side. The Inca walked over his back with his son in his arms and reached the therma where he found the cure. When he looked back to thank his warriors, they had petrified and, according to legend, created the famous ''Puente del lnca (The Inca bridge)''.

The bridge is attached to an abandoned hotel of thermal baths that at the time hosted important figures of the bourgeois class who were mainly crossing the trans-Andean railroad route that crossed Chile and Argentina and all its visitors were attracted by the "healing powers" "Of its thermal waters and it is said that under said bridge there are small pools where mineralized water runs with therapeutic importance and that, in addition, they are capable of petrifying any object that is exposed to its passage for at least 40 days, This fact is confirmed by the sellers in the area who take advantage of this and find themselves marketing objects ranging from bottles to shoes that have been petrified under these effects.

The hotel was abandoned because in the middle of the 60s it suffered a powerful avalanche that destroyed its great structure and left it in ruins. Another of its curious data is that, when the avalanche occurred, it devastated a large part of the hotel but the religious chapel that was in its vicinity remained intact after the impact.

It's an important bridge for the history of the independence of Argentina, it's one of the points visited for those who decide to make the High Mountain tours in Mendoza, perfect to take some pictures and enjoy the outdoors and the tranquility of the place.

It receives this name since the rock formations that conform it give an aspect to the panorama as if it were a meeting of monks, it is located very close to the Aconcagua hill and it's exceptional for the practice of Ski and Snowboard, being the seat of schools of these sports also tourist centers where even the least expert can practice them.

Villavicencio, located in Uspallata is a town that stands out for having fantastic panoramas, and also with a modern mineral water plant and an old and luxurious hotel, previously it was a mandatory route for those who wanted to get to Chile from Argentina and is currently visited by numerous tourists eager to venture to perform numerous sports activities. I do not have photos of this wonderful place but this is the name of the drinking water that is consumed in this area, an it can't be missing from the list of places to visit in Uspallata.
