SteemFest⁴ Updates

It’s been over a week since SteemFest⁴ and we have so many memories to share. On this year’s event, TravelFeed was represented by @for91days, @jpphotography and @wanderein. It’s also the first time this trio got together and it was and intense, super fun and productive time.

Android Mobile App And Witness Server

We loved socializing with different Steemians from different communities from around the world. The highlight, however, was TravelFeed’s presentation on the second day of the conference, which was held at the historic Grand Postal Building in Bangkok. @jpphotography did a great job in delivering TravelFeed’s vision, unique features and its roadmap to the audience. What could be more exciting than the launch of our Android mobile app and our witness server on that day? Missed these announcements? No worries you can read all about them here.

Of course, it’s not just all work, SteemFest is also about play! There was something to look forward to each day, from a temple tour, forming a bowling team, riding a tuktuk to enjoying a fancy dinner on a river boat cruise.

There was plenty of alcohol going around and everyone was well-fed! As for the TravelFeed Team, there is no doubt though, street food was our favorite food and we were sneaking away couple of times to fill our belly with it.

During the off days, the team went out with @slobberchops for some urban exploration. Unfortunately, the doors of the abandoned mall we were supposed to visit were now locked. The team still found a demolished building and we were able to continue their ‘urban ex-scapade’.

The five-day conference was jam packed with activities and we didn’t realize that it has come to an end. The team has definitely connected with more Steemians outside the TravelFeed community, while the succeeding week provided an opportunity to reach out to people outside Steem via three TravelFeed meetups post Steemfest.

Next week, we will share with you the successful TravelFeed meet-ups that transpired in Bangkok and Chiang Mai!

Luckily we were some of the first visitors, but one could already imagine how it will look like in a few hours. Due to the fact that there are some really nice photo motives and the sky which cleared, I expected hundreds of tourists later the day.

We only had 40 minutes here, barely enough to fight through the crowds and admire the temple in detail. That's why I don't like organised tours as you're constantly on the move to cram in as much in as possible. Everywhere ends up as a been there and done it visit. Luckily I managed to snap a quick shot of the golden toilet on the way out - as recommened by the tour guide!

The next morning I slipped on my hiking gear of flip flops and swimming shorts and headed out. My Bali flip flops didn't even make it to the meeting point before they ripped. I had a choice: desert my crew, or soldier on. I recalled a hike with my friend on an Australian island where she refused to wear her shoes. I thought why not? If she could, I can too. Hopefully I wouldn't also end up in too much pain and texting that I'm stuck up a tree.
