All New Editor & Dark-Mode

Travelers from near and far, step a bit closer to the screen and see what we've been working on since the release of the TravelFeed.io Beta version just a few weeks ago. A lot has happened since then. We received incredible feedback and encouragement from in and outside of the TravelFeed community and were able to more than double delegations, which currently levels out to over 36,000 in Steem Power. Are you interested in becoming an early investor? At the end of this post, you'll find some easy-to-use delegation links. As soon as we release our own token, investors will earn their fair share of them and any current and past delegations will be rewarded as well. Early investors have the advantage of receiving a higher share when delegating now since we expect our total incoming delegations to be much higher soon and therefore an equally high delegation will amount to a much smaller share of the total delegations in the future.

What's New?

Let's start with the most exciting update, we totally revamped our editors, which is the heart and centerpiece of our entire platform. The easy editor and the markdown editor are much smoother; we added a save draft button (in addition to the draft auto-save every 20 seconds); you can now specify the category of your selected location (country/subdivision/city/suburb) in the location picker; and we allow you to choose a language for your posts (keep in mind we're currently only curating posts in English or Polish; if you're interested in starting a curation team for your language, get in touch with us!)

Beautiful new dark-mode

We then added a list of minimum post requirements at the end of the editor which automatically updates once they've been met. You can now edit the url of your post's permalink. Also, you can choose how you want your rewards to be paid out, between 50% liquid Steem/SBD and 50% Steem Power or 100% Steem Power. Oh and mentioning payouts, you can now add a beneficiary. Travelfeed doesn't set itself as one, but if you like what we're doing you can add us, and share some of your rewards with us.

We've made it easier to embed videos from dtube, youtube and vimeo; just copy and paste the video url within the easy or markdown editor and voilà your videos show up in the preview. Also, the markdown editor has been replaced with a block-based GUI that is more beautiful and intuitive. And we’d like to highlight that all these updates improve the use of TravelFeed.io on your mobile devices; as an example, we’ve implemented swipe actions for menus, making the use of TravelFeed on your smaller devices much easier. No more excuses for not travel blogging while you're on the road.

Let's take a dark turn now. Under the settings via your dashboard, you’ll find the option to activate dark-mode (pictured above) which is easier on your eyes and the environment.

As you can see, we've been very busy taking TravelFeed to the next level. But there have been many more improvements which we’ll list out below. But first, we want to invite you watch this screencast video introducing our new editor:

Not it's time for you to try these new features and earn some upvotes on

TravelFeed.io

Apart from these big new features, we’ve also made many small improvements and bug fixes. You can find them in our release notes of v1.1 https://github.com/travelfeed-io/travelfeed-io/pull/149 and v1.2 https://github.com/travelfeed-io/travelfeed-io/pull/157 on Github. We especially want to highlight these bug fixes which were only possible thanks to reports by the community:

  • Reverse order of earnings in the Dashboard - thanks to @worldcapture for reporting!
  • Improve the wallet page to make clear that the number shown reflects the total earnings and not claimable earnings - thanks @libertycrypto27 and @zirochka
  • Improve date display to show month and year instead of 'x months/years ago' - thanks to @livinguktaiwan for the suggestion
  • Title validation allows invalid permalink to be added to broadcast and API returns 500 when duplicate permalink provided thanks to @tobias-g for reporting!

Thanks also to @harry-heightz for the many ideas that have been implemented into our new editor.

How to Get Involved?

And another thing you should know -- if you're using our TravelFeed.io you can earn additional bonus upvotes (vs just adding the tag). And using our platform will become even more important once we release our own tokens.

We invite anyone who’s interested in travel to check out our TravelFeed dApp and to join our over 800-strong community on Discord. We’re also looking for one more curator to join our team.

We ❤️ Open Source

We are proud to make TravelFeed available fully Open-Source, and support other communities on Steem who want to build on our code. Our code is on Github. We’re still looking for contributors who want to work with us on the future of TravelFeed.

We’re still in Beta and continuously improving the software. This means that there are still some bugs. If you notice anything or have feedback for us, please don’t hesitate to contact us on our Discord, leave a comment or open a bug report on our Github!

Delegate Now!

During our launch, we plan on rewarding past, current and future TravelFeed users by airdropping tokens. This will also incentivise authoring posts through TravelFeed instead of through third-party dApps using the tag #travelfeed.

We are in the process of registering a company and establishing the legal fundaments of a token offering, so officially, we cannot make any legally binding offers now, so while we officially can not offer compensation yet, all past, current and future delegators will be fairly compensated for their delegation with tokens once out token has launched. The airdrop will be based on the amount of SteemPower delegated and your share of the total delegations for each day delegated. This means an advantage for early investors delegating now while our total delegations amount to only 34k SP, a number that we expect to be much higher in the near future. Our Steem Power is fully used for curation of the best TravelFeed posts.

To delegate to @travelfeed, feel free to use the following links accordingly to the amount you would like to delegate:

100 SP | 250 SP | 500 SP | 1000 SP | 2500 SP | 5000 SP | 10000 SP | 15000 SP | 25000 SP | 50000 SP

The Traveler's Notebook: Best Beaches in Crete Island, Greece
written by @ctdots

It doesn’t matter if it is a hot summer or a cold winter, people will seek out for beaches for one or another reason. As a general rule, I don’t visit Jordan to see the greenery, nor I visit Scotland to enjoy the sun, the reason to visit Crete is its beaches and it is what I’m going to focus in this article. The top 10 best beaches in Crete Island, Greece.

The 2nd Place

Getting to Chiang Rai from Chiang Mai
written by @rayshiuimages

The terminal has two floors but the second floor is basically empty with a small seating area and empty shops. The only reason why I went up there was because there was signage indicating that there were clean toilets up there plus it's relatively deserted so no need to wait in line. All the toilets in the terminal have an entrance fee but the main floor ones have an attendant at the entrance collecting the fee and selling toiletries like toilet paper just in case you didn't bring your own.

4 Walks From Hotel Le Mahana – Part 2
written by @dmcamera

So, what on earth is this? Well, some creatures scurried into the various holes as we walked by. I caught a glimpse of one of them just before he disappeared almost entirely. However, if you look closely you will see part of him in one of the holes just before he disappeared altogether!
