We have some amazing news for you - thanks to higher curation rewards due to HF21 and us trying to push you to write even better high quality travel articles, we decided to bump our weekly round-up prize pool to a total of 24 Steem per week. As you know, every Friday we're publishing our weekly round-ups where we feature our favorite posts submitted to us during the course of the week.

Weekly Round-up Prize Pool Increase

The winners from today on will split the prize pool as follows:

  • First Prize: 14 Steem
  • Second Prize: 7 Steem
  • Third Prize: 3 Steem

That's a pretty steep increase from the previous 6 Steem total.

SteemFest⁴ / TravelFeed Presentation

We just got confirmation that @jpphotography will be presenting TravelFeed.io during one of the State of the Apps events at SteemFest⁴. We will share with you the exact day and time once we know more.

Updated: Guidelines for Participating on TravelFeed.io

We also updated the guidelines to help you be compliant with our minimum requirements before we consider your post to get published on our platform. If your article is not meeting the outlines of the guideline, it won't get curated either.

We also changed upvoting weights depending if you published your article through TravelFeed.io directly vs just using our #travelfeed tag on another. It pays more to post and leave comments directly through TravelFeed.io. More information here!

Important notice if you are not posting through TravelFeed.io

We have noticed that some posts that are using more than 5 tags are not indexed correctly by Hivemind, the software that both Steemit and TravelFeed are using to synchronize the Blockchain into a database. This means that it can happen that your post does not appear on Travelfeed.io nor on the tag view on Steemit even though you are using the tag. What seems to work is putting the tag as one of the first 5 tags (this is the reason why until recently all frontends only allowed up to 5 tags and Steemit still has this restriction).
Posts published through TravelFeed.io are not affected by this and will always appear.

Updates And Bug Fixes

This week, we released several improvements and fixes for bugs reported by the community. Thank you so much for your feedback!

  • Fix follow button not reflecting the follow status - thanks @oheyo for reporting
  • Fix posts with comment_options (beneficiaries etc.) not posting with Steemconnect - thanks @invisusmundi and @lizelle for reporting
  • Use Keychain instead of Steemconnect when both extensions are installed - thanks @oldtimer and @ervin-lemark for reporting
  • Fix images in tables overlapping in Firefox - thanks @justinparke for reporting
  • Images are now only displayed at full width if they are large enough. This prevents blown up, pixelated low-resolution images taking up the entire screen.

For more details, have a look on Github.

How to Get Involved?

Join the TravelFeed Community! We invite anyone who’s interested in travel to check out TravelFeed.io and to join our over 900-strong community on Discord. We’re also looking for one more curator to join our team.

We ❤️ Open Source: We are proud to make TravelFeed fully Open-Source, and support other communities on Steem who want to build on our code, which can be found on Github. We’re still looking for contributors who want to work with us on the future of TravelFeed. We’re in Beta and continuously improving the software, meaning that there are still some bugs. If you notice anything or have feedback for us, please don’t hesitate to contact us on our Discord, leave a comment or open a bug report on our Github!

Consider Delegating To Us

Your delegation not only supports the growth of this incredible project, but also helps the entire travel community on the Steem blockchain. Once we launch our token, the airdrop to delegators will be based on the amount of SteemPower delegated and your share of the total delegations for each day delegated. This means an advantage for early investors delegating now while our total delegations amount is only 128k SP: a number that we expect to be much higher in the near future. Our Steem Power is fully used for curation of the best TravelFeed posts and we provide temporary delegations of 15 SP to accounts created through us, to help with resource credits. Feel free to use the following links according to the amount you would like to delegate to @travelfeed:

100 SP | 250 SP | 500 SP | 1000 SP | 2500 SP | 5000 SP | 10000 SP | 15000 SP | 25000 SP | 50000 SP

And again, we'd like to thank every single delegator who believes and trusts in us. If TravelFeed becomes as successful as we are confident it will be, delegating to us is probably the investment with the highest ROI on Steem right now.

The 1st Place

Travels through Cambodia
written by @paulmp

The journey out to the villages was done in a few 4x4s, Cambodia is still recovering and much of the infrastructure is focused on Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and other major towns. We drove through muddy tracks and crossed rivers for most of the day before getting stuck within 2 kilometres of our intended destination. There were two grass huts where we got stuck, the people who lived in them volunteered them as our "medical clinic" so we set up right there!

The 2nd Place

Alpine Loop Scenic Byway
written by @derangedvisions

The Alpine Loop Scenic Byway is a 20 mile stretch of windy canyon roads with amazing views of Mt Timpanogos and the other mountains in the area. On this occasion we didn't travel the whole 20 miles, but instead parked at the summit and got out on the trailhead to fly my drone for a while and get some shots from about 8,000 feet.

The 3rd Place

My Summer Trip Photos - Italy - Garda Lake
written by @lion200

We rented a house from Airbnb to stay with two families. The house had 2 floors, 1 for each family. So we were together but also separate, giving both families some privacy. We chose this house because of its magnificent view to the Garda Lake. And when we arrived there late in the evening, we were not able to see the beautiful view. But in the morning…
