Shopping at 3 Coins Stores in Japan with Travelgirl

December 2019 · 2 min read · Sumida

Hi Everyone,

When I go to Japan, one of the main goals is shopping. Japan has many discounted chain stores like Daiso, Seria, Can Do with are all 100 yen stores (which I will write another separate article about). But there is one store that is called 3 Coins meaning 3 x 100 yen store. Yep, you guessed it, most things in this store are priced at 300 yen.

These stores are all over Japan and most things are sold at 300 yen (plus tax). They sell mainly household goods, for home improvements, bedding, laundry items, jewellery, hair accessories and so on. The quality there is a lot better than the 100 yen stores in most cases and have their own designs and styles. I normally go there and stock up on winter stockings if I am in Japan in winter as they sell good quality with LL size (extra tall) available.

The other thing I like and can take home are their items for the laundry. This time, they introduced a two-tier trying rack that is foldable, great for those who have limited laundry space and need somewhere to make sure various items are dried. I really wanted to get this organiser but realise maybe my draw is a bit too small to fit this in but at 300 yen it is a good price.

If you are visiting Japan, I recommend you to check out their Instagram account which is updated regularly with new products and their recommendations on how to use their products effectively. Some items like humidifiers cost more than 300 yen but they are all clearly priced when you visit in-store.
