Traveling the World #130 - Visiting UNESCO Site Hallstatt @ Austria with Travelgirl

February 2019 · 2 min read · Hallstatt

Hi Steemians,

Hallstatt has been a place I really wanted to visited but unfortunately when we visited Salzburg we didn’t have enough time therefore I made sure that we visit Hallstatt this time round. It was a bit of a drive from Salzburg but the scenery along the way was really pretty which made it quite enjoyable.

hallstatt, austria

When arrived, the first thing we saw was the huge line at the public toilet. It’s not free so be sure to have to change ready to pay if you really need to go. As we walk along the shopping/eating strip towards the famous view point, there are many stores selling different things like postcards, bags, salt, even selfie sticks!

It was going into winter when we visited so this store actually sold cup noodles and green tea for people who don’t have a lot of time to sit down and eat. Check out the post, its translated in 5 different languages.

As we walk along, we saw some pretty lanterns on the trees and some cool buildings. Love the styles of these houses, just like in the fairytale stories.

And we are finally here! This is just like what we see on the postcards & travel brochures. There were a lot of visitors all your round but while we were there, everyone was very polite. Most people took their photos very quickly and make room for other tourists to take their phones. It was definitely worth the drive because we probably won’t be visit Hallstatt any time soon after this trip.
