When we travel or visit a certain place, food was one of the things on our list, right?

So before heading up to Manila, my travel buddies and I are imagining scramptous food while we are planning our itinerary. This time we want to have something new or should I say something popular here in the Philippines... like โ€oppaโ€ , yeah we are talking about Koreans! ๐Ÿ˜‚ We want to try some Korean foods. ๐Ÿ˜‹

We search on the net for popular Korean restaurants, considering the location and the price that will fit for our budget.

And as I have told you our hotel was within the MOA (Mall of Asia) Complex and along Seaside Boulevard you will find lots of eat all you can and buffet resto with different cuisine from around the world. We opt to try GEN Korean BBQ House located in the said area, with its enciting offer - EAT ALL YOU CAN barbeque premium meat in a very affortable price starts at Php 598.00 (about 12 Usd) per person.

Gen Korean BBQ House is a California-based Korean barbecue chain that revolutionizes the all-you-can-eat experience with boundless menu options, fused with intriguing flavors and made with the freshest of ingredients that are specially imported from the US , says in one of thier ads. Hmm... sounds interesting and confusing! ๐Ÿ˜…
Immediately, I made the reservation online. They have different meal packages from 598.00, 798.00 and 998.00. Of course, we choose the cheapest one ๐Ÿ˜‚. The 598.00 package meal that includes 15 items.

So letโ€™s get started!

@meetmysuperego arrived at GENโ€™s on time for our 11:30 AM reservation directly from airport, while Iโ€™m still stuck on traffic. And when I arrived few minutes after... the table was already set with these appetizing side dishes - cabbage kimchi, eggplant kimchi, pickled onion, mash potato, turnips and lettuce salad.

For the meat, we got Samgyubsal, an smoked garlic pork belly.

Spicy Chicken, chicken meat marinated in spicy sauce.

Of course we have their Premium Meat from US, a beef I guess.

The Korean noddles Jap Chae, sweet marinated glass noddles with cooked vegetables.

And the famous Kimchi with the other side dish.

And the winner among them all... the Spicy Pork Bulgogi! Thats our favorite.
The meat was tender and spice is not too strong that complements the little sweetness.

The drill is you need to cook it by yourself in the barbeque grill on the table and have fun! ๐Ÿค—
And by the way here is the short 1:16 minute clip ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿผ๐ŸŽฆ

if you are wondering why there is no photo while we are cooking the food, its because Iโ€™m recording it. The link was from my youtube account and feel free to subscribe too if you want, only if you want. Lol!

Our dining experience was interesting and confusing just like my first impression.

Interesting because of their irresistible offer, food presentation was good, place was cozy and clean.
Confusing because its not clearly stated in the menu set what are the included items. We got the set 598.00 with 15 items, we thought it is 15 kinds of meat which is posted in one of thier ads on the net. But thats what we got from the above photos, and when we count the food on the table... 2 types of kimchi, pickled onion, mash potato, turnips, lettuce salad, rice, local softdrinks, samgyubsal, spicy chicken, premuim meat, spicy bulgogi, shrimp, chicken poppers, and jap chea... they are all in all 15. ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…
Also, there was a miscommunication with our reservation coz we are not on the list. Good thing, they only got few costumers and accommodated us immediately. Plus you need to bring a little patient for their not so friendly service crew. Haha! Sorry about this but I guess I really need to say it as a forewarning for everyone of you who are planning to eat here.

But the funny thing despite of my rants, I ate almost everything on the table, haha! Though my buds are looking for the authentic taste of Korean cusine that I tasted before from the other resto, well maybe because of the โ€œrevolutionizes and intriguing flavorsโ€œ that they are saying which is fair enough.
We had two round of Bulgogi and Samgyupsal good enough to fill our cravings before we ask for our bill... That cost:

Php 1,954.18 inclusive of tax... not bad for a samptous meal like this! ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹

I hope I did not get you hungry guys.
Well, see you on my next blog for our dinner.
