BILBAO - The Basque Country's amazing Capital [EN/DE]

Hello dear Steemians! You may have noticed that I've been pretty inactive here on Steemit in the last few weeks. This is not because of the current Steem price, as you might expect, but because I am currently working intensively on a new project. But more about this later. Today I would like to tell you about my current short trip. I flew to Spain for a few days, to the beautiful Basque Country, more precisely to Bilbao!

Hallo liebe Steemianer! Vielleicht ist euch aufgefallen, dass ich hier auf Steemit in letzter Zeit eher inaktiv war. Das liegt nicht am aktuellen Steem-Kurs, wie man eventuell vermuten könnte, sondern daran, dass ich zurzeit intensiv an einem neuen Projekt arbeite. Aber dazu mehr zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt. Heute möchte ich euch erstmal von meiner aktuellen kurzen Reise erzählen. Ich bin für ein paar Tage nach Spanien, ins wunderschöne Baskenland geflogen, genauer gesagt nach Bilbao!

Bilbao is located in the very north-east of Spain, on the Atlantic coast and not far from the border to France. The city's landmark is clearly the unique Guggenheim Museum.

Bilbao befindet sich ganz im Nordosten Spaniens, an der Atlantikküste und nicht weit von der Grenze zu Frankreich. Das Wahrzeichen der Stadt ist ganz klar das einzigartige Guggenheim Museum.

This building exactly meets my taste and accordingly I was looking forward to it. I was not disappointed and admired the museum extensively from all possible sides and angles.

Dieses Gebäude trifft wirklich ganz genau meinen Geschmack und dementsprechend hoch war auch meine Vorfreude darauf. Ich wurde nicht enttäuscht und bewunderte das Bauwerk ausgiebig von allen möglichen Seiten und Blickwinkeln.

Also worth seeing is the old town, which has its very own character. The cobblestone streets are always well frequented, but above all, this district is bustling in the early evening when both locals and tourists are attracted by the countless small bars.

Ebenfalls sehr sehenswert ist die Altstadt, die einen ganz eigenen Charakter hat. Die kopfsteingepflasterten Gassen sind immer gut besucht, vor allem pulsiert dieser Stadtteil aber am frühen Abend, wenn es sowohl Einheimische, als auch Touristen in die unzähligen kleinen Bars zieht.

Ponte Zubizuri is another modern landmark of Bilbao. This bridge was designed by the famous architect Santiago Calatrava.

Ponte Zubizuri ist ein weiteres modernes Wahrzeichen von Bilbao. Diese Brücke wurde von dem berühmten Architekten Santiago Calatrava entworfen.

A short ride on the over 100-year-old rack railway takes you to the viewpoint Mirador of Monte Artxanda. Here you have a wonderful view over the whole city.

Durch eine kurze Fahrt mit der über 100 Jahre alten Zahnradbahn erreicht man den Aussichtspunkt Mirador der Monte Artxanda. Hier hat man eine herrliche Aussicht über die gesamte Stadt.

I hope you enjoyed this brief insight. I have to say that Bilbao really has a lot to offer. If you ever have the chance, you should definitely spend a few days here.

Ich hoffe dieser kurze Einblick hat euch gefallen. Ich muss sagen, dass Bilbao wirklich viel zu bieten hat. Falls ihr mal die Chance habt, solltet ihr hier unbedingt ein paar Tage verbringen.
