Walking Off the Beaten Path in Prague

February 2020 · 2 min read · Prague

Yesterday I showed you a few photos over the river Vltava, in Prague and told you that across the river you'd find a nice place to relax at the Letna Park (Letenská pláň.)

Here are a couple of photos of that place.

This is a small park with lots of trees providing a nice shade to hide from the sun...

If you walk across that park you'll find yourself just a couple of meters away from another public park called Stromovka.

This one is a larger public park, with large green lawns for having picnics and also plenty of jogging tracks.

Here, you'll find a wide diversity of trees, making it a perfect place for a walk after lunch, while you digest your food.

There are plenty of paths to choose from and you can enjoy your time in peace and quiet, wandering through these woods.

Since this park is a bit far from the city centre, you'll only find a few locals enjoying the nature and the jogging trails.

At the center of the park you'll find a more open area, in case you want to lie down and enjoy the fresh air... 😊

As you can see, it was pretty much empty. A big contrast from the crowded and busy city centre and the castle area of Prague.

I think tourists miss a lot for staying on the beaten path. There are so much more to see in Prague, other than the places recommended in tourist books.

You'd do well if you ditch those books for a day and walk around without a fixed destination. You might end up discovering cool places like this. 🤗

Of course, there's nothing wrong in seeing those touristy areas, too... if you stay in Prague for a week, you have enough time to see it all. 😎

I hope you enjoyed these photos... and who knows? Maybe you'll find me in Prague someday, as this is a city I'd love to revisit.
