Castelhanos Beach | 4x4 Trail + Boat | Ilhabela Trip

Hi TravelFeed friends... want to share this special trip. it's always a good go-to Ilhabela, such a beautiful place and paradise for those who like adventures, tracks, and peace...

First of all, use a mask and keep social distance. Stay safe friends...

Castelhanos is a remote beach located on Ilhabela island. You get there by 4x4 trail or boat. A lot of people go by bicycle, it's a long way, you need to be in total shape.

We decided to go by Jeep and return by boat, so we could enjoy the forest at State Park Reserve... with mountains, forests, waterfalls, beaches, and walking trails.

Our journey started at Ilhabela downtown... get aboard into a 4x4 jeep. We made our first stop to walk to a small waterfall. Also, it's a good place for bird watching, the best time to watch them is very early in the morning.

Some species you can find:

  1. Jacutinga
  2. Saira 7 cores
  3. Saira Militar
  4. Macuco
  5. Urutau
  6. Pica Pau do Topete Vermelho
  7. Sai Azul

Back to the road... increase bumps and hard ride terrain, after crossing a river, we get to the beach. Totally worth it.

Stop to see the Forest view.. the road is there, but you cant see it...

Just a river to cross... luckily, we already have a bridge... in the past, you need to cross it by Jeep, but now is forbidden. You need to walk to the beach.

After an Incredible lunch and few drinks, and a fun day, with more hiking and a walk by the beach.

Time to continue by boat and start our journey back... it was incredible so far. But we have more stops at few beaches on the way back. Some of them are so remote, that the only way to get there is by boat. Also, we have islands with small populations totally isolated from civilization...
