Culture: Let Me Introduce You to NEW YORK CITY

September 2019 · 2 min read

Dear Steemians,

Today I will give you my modest opinion about the famous city of New York. I once visited it with my family and since I enjoyed it so much, I felt like I had to make a special post about it on my steemit blog.

Big Apple

New York, also known as the Big Apple, is a city which offers infinite things to do and places to see. When planning your trip, you don’t even have to read about the city’s history or cultural events because of the huge number of places you can discover just by walking randomly through the streets.

First impression

As soon as you get out of the plane at the JFK airport you get a feeling of smallness in an enormous new world. On a typical yellow taxi, you discover the huge roads near the city and then you see it. The amazing skyline of Manhattan. Huge buildings that are reaching for the sky that lays next to the gigantic Atlantic Ocean.

Traveling through NY

Getting around in New York City is very straight forward. The streets and avenues in Manhattan are numbered, so you probably won’t need a map to find your way. You can take the subway to travel easily and quickly to every part of the city. Riding your bike, skateboarding, ordering an Uber or walking are other options to discover New York.

Multicultural

It is certainly a big cliché, but the New Yorkers are the most multicultural community that I have seen in my life. In big European cities we are used to multiculturality, but NYC is a level above. You can meet literally every single ethnicity there and they will all call themselves true New Yorkers, I found it amazing!

Conclusion

New York is HUGE. Not just geographically but also experientially. So, me trying to explain to you what this iconic city is about into a single post is just impossible! That’s why I will try to post some more specific articles in the nearby future.
