Hiking trip to Spano Pole in Pirin

September 2019 · 2 min read · Blagoevgrad

One of the days of Pirin's hiking trip I visited the Spano Pole shelter, located on the left bank of the Small Spanopolska River.

Spano Pole Shelter is located in the northern part of Pirin, at an altitude of 2055 meters below the southwestern slopes of Bashliiski Chukar Peak, in the southern parts of the Little Spano Field Circus.

The hiking trip started that day from Sinanitsa hut early in the morning. We passed through a forest of squat and continued upwards to the Sinanishka Gate.

The Sinanishka Gate is a saddle located on the side Sinanish ridge. South of Mount Gergiytsa and the marble massif of Mount Sinanitsa. Its altitude is about 2440m. It is a rock gap through which a path goes to the Spano Field Circus.

From here began the descent down a path of stones with beautiful views.

We crossed a wooden bridge near which we made a rest.

We continued on extensive meadows with beautiful vegetation and grazing herds of cows.

In the distance, I began to distinguish between cute bungalows with red roofs of white dots. They looked like a row of mushrooms.

The shelter is a group of 10 double bungalows, a tourist dining room with a kitchen and an outdoor summer dining room. In the summer, there are tents with an additional capacity of 10-12 seats by the shelter.

We were cordially welcomed by the kind hosts.
